My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a freelance musician (flutist and composer) who's lived in LA for 3 years, but spent most of my adult in life in Brooklyn. I love exploring new things in LA, hiking, baking, working out and hanging out in places where I can either slowly drink coffee or wine, depending on the time of day. My style has been described as kindergarten teacher-chic, and my nickname at a past job was purplelina. People have said I have the kind of sense of humor you might miss if you're not really listening, I'm good with the one-liners. I like people who are passionate about what they do, but are also able to keep things light and enjoy life. In addition to freelancing I also teach kids music which I mostly enjoy. I used to have a family of skunks living underneath the cottage where I live, and I would pretend they were my friends (they would scratch when I practiced my flute,) luckily no one was hurt by my delusions and they have since moved away.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
As mentioned, I'm a professional musician so that requires a lot of time put in at home...I think most musicians never truly feel like they're off the clock. I really love to bake--all things, pies, cakes, etc-I get a lot of satisfaction from making something that's beautiful and delicious in a relatively short period of time. I have a lot of great friends that I enjoy spending time with as well.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
the flute, composing, talking to children, baking, fancy hair braids, eye make-up, spelling, listening, being nice to people, typing faster than I would ever need to
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
from the top down...bangs, eyes, tush.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My flute,
Chocolate,
Home-cooked meals with friends,
Watching guilty pleasure TV on the my computer late at night,
Inspiration
Good stories
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The bug in the corner of the room I'm too scared to kill, using up the produce in my fridge before it goes bad, pie dough techniques, "was that an earthquake? no, it wasn't," what I'm going to eat for dinner, have I had too much coffee?...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a show, playing a show, out to dinner, out with friends, sitting at home, um, basically it depends on how kind the week was to me...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't like seafood. This may not seem that private, but I have a huge complex about it--as someone who is pretty into food it makes me feel like a little kid who won't eat her vegetables. I probably try to make myself eat something from the ocean once a month to see how it goes....I just ate an oyster the other day....
