My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Bike rider, thrift store explorer, occasional DJ, vinyl junkie, comic book reader, antique hunter who likes pinball & video games, punk & indie shows, dancing, photobooths, and roller skating.

I tend to surround myself with musicians, artists, and "characters". A lot of people I know don't define themselves by their means of employment.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting reacquainted with the Northampton area. A lot has changed since I moved to Boston, and yet there are still plenty of things that are the same :)

In other news - trying to play my guitar more. Fantasizing about starting a band. Learning the ukulele.

Also feeling very adult because I just bought a car and now have a loan to pay off. Building credit is a step in the right direction, yes? The car is red and shiny and every time I turn the key everything works. It's a dream come true.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making mix tapes, finding cool stuff in thrift stores, parallel parking, and playing video games from the 80s.

I collect Pyrex, novelty glasses, and other kitchen stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
smile, haircut, tattoos, vintage sweaters and somewhat retro style in general.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books: Youth in Revolt, Confederacy of Dunces, On the Road, books about music, art, and nostalgic stuff like Route 66.

Movies: Jaws, Buckaroo Banzai, Friends of Eddie Coyle, Encino Man, Over the Edge, Wages of Fear, Gleaming the Cube, Animal House, Slapshot, The Warriors, Raiders of the Lost Ark, O Brother Where Art Thou, Paper Moon.

I don't watch much TV. I do either DVDs or stream things online for shows. Some that I watch on and off are Trailer Park Boys, The IT Crowd, Eastbound and Down, the Simpsons, and Bob's Burgers. When I was living in Watertown I used to get a lot of Seinfeld and Curb DVDs from the library.

Music - I've been on a big Northern Soul kick lately. Some favorite bands, old and new: the Minutemen, Dead Milkmen, Orange Juice, Go-Betweens, Ramones, Devo, Wire, Depeche Mode, Joy Division/New Order, The Monks, Modern Lovers, Mission of Burma, the Velvet Underground, OFF!, The Clean, the Bats, Alvvays, the Beets, Eagulls, Veronica Falls, Spits, Jacuzzi Boys, Crystal Stilts.

Food - Indian, Mexican, Thai, Ethiopian, falafel, dark chocolate, mangos, ice cream, Bánh mì, and pho. Can never say no to pizza or burritos.

comics: I tend to favor underground comic artists and gold and silver age super hero stuff (to you non-nerds that means comics from the 50's & 60's). There are still a handful of current titles that I read on a weekly basis. Some artists and comics I like: Crumb, Clowes, Charles Burns, Harvey Pekar, Los Bros Hernandez, Peter Bagge, Lynda Barry, Evan Dorkin, Concrete, Shazam, Plasticman, Batman, and Superman.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
record player
cheap sunglasses
comic books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Making up fake band names.

Sending stuff through the mail.

How it is that texting has pretty much entirely replaced talking on the phone.

How many fewer messages I will get now that I put in a section about comic books.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I try to mix it up as much as possible. Sometimes at a show, sometimes hangin out, sometimes at home with a movie or a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
For several years I was the referee for BLOWW - the Boston League of Women Wrestlers
