My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Capricious, I think maybe cause I used to live near Capri.

I like keeping the AC at like 68 degrees when I sleep, I prefer to be barefoot, and I'm usually comfortable sitting on the floor.

I have some pretty intense stomach problems, but I still like putting sriracha on loads of stuff. Can't drink much at the moment because of them.

A lot of the time I feel like Yossarian and Eeyore and Bean and [insert disenchanted fictional character here]; I don't know what me saying that is supposed to mean. I like lending a helping hand and am always trying to move forward in some way or another.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Growing up I always wanted to be Batman or an airplane. Neither of those things really panned out for me. I went to college and played with rats, pigeons, people, and computers (BS in Behavioral Psych, minors in Poli Sci and Comp Sci).

I moved to Austin from Charleston last June to try out a new job and get a change of scenery. I'm not originally from SC, so no southern accent here.

I tend to be a workaholic (whether it's work stuff or online ed stuff). Outside of that I read, watch movies, play video games, make music, travel, and go out to bars; you know, normal stuffs.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being unflinchingly honest when it's needed. Finishing your sentence or rewording your thoughts. Multitasking and giving logical advice.

Swimming out into the ocean farther than you. It's peaceful out there. This is the first time I've lived farther than about 30 minutes from the beach, which is bothersome.

I can sing and play the guitar pretty well; if you're American I'll try to be your idol, at least in the car. Ask for my youtube if you want to hear.

Connect 4, incoherent rambling, standardized tests, making observations that end up as dad jokes, filling out Okcupid profiles (I mean have you been reading this thing?), changing my mind
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My invariably stupendous charm and wit of course... probably my height and skinniness, followed closely by facetiousness.

Apparently some of my Facebook girl friends have deemed it appropriate to rate me on Lulu and I've received hashtags including #mysterious, #bedroomeyes, #perfectgrammar, #kissablelips, #nerdybutilikeit, #writeslovesongs, and #cantalktomydad. At least mildly entertaining, right?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Authors instead of books : Orson Scott Card, George R.R. Martin, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, Charles Bukowski, Joseph Heller, Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Aldous Huxley, Oscar Wilde, Philip K. Dick, Tolkein, Herbert, not Ayn Rand

Movies : The Prestige, Nolan series Batmans, Brick, Waking Life, anything Wes Anderson, anything Tarantino, most anything Woody Allen, most anything Coen brothers, Syriana, The Wackness, City of God, Catch Me If You Can, The Host, Annie Hall, Sin City, The Departed, Tombstone, Gomorrah, any heist/crime/spy or dystopian movies

Shows : Jericho, Arrested Dev, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Parks and Rec, Breaking Bad, Misfits, The IT Crowd, Black Books, Better Off Ted, Doc Who, BBC's Sherlock, Whose Line Is It Anyways?, The Office, Girls

Music : Kevin Devine, balkans, Death Cab, Everything Everything, Baths, Born Ruffians, Brand New, Wavves, Darwin Deez, The XX, Crystal Castles, Postal Service, Oberhofer, Yellow Ostrich, Phoenix, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Lupe Fiasco, De La Soul, Gift of Gab, Bombay Bicycle Club, J. Cole, Mansions, Odd Future, Satellite Stories, Spoon, and the Kooks (mostly hiphop or indie shite, some ambient/house stuff, lots of oldies)

Food : azn (indian, thai, korean, filipino, japanese, vietnamese, chinese), italian, and seafood are my favorites, both to eat and to cook. I always try to order something new when I go out. The kitchen is probably where my Italian heritage shines most.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
body of water
humor
more to learn
more to see
more to do
more to be
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
various industrial complexes, crime, language, politics, human and animal behavior, inequality, education reform, economics. where to go on my next trip. what book to read next. overthinking some article I read on reddit, the guardian, or nytimes. reflecting on life decisions, either past or future. various things that don't make any sense, or things that make sense to me that don't make sense to others. how to fix things. why things aren't already fixed. moving to Australia or Canada or Denmark even though I've not been to any of those places as of yet.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
roping a group of strangers into playing pool with me and then bar hopping with them for the next 5 hours, or watching the entirety of netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In 2006, I won Time magazine's person of the year award.

I think the Big Bang Theory is absolutely awful.

If a dog is near me I'll probably have a really rough time paying attention to you instead of the dog.

I hermit up a lot for no reason, you've probably gotta be okay with that.

I'm obviously bad at choosing one thing.
I’m looking for

  • Ages 21–29
  • Located anywhere

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you're intelligent, you have a good sense of humour, you don't mind someone that occasionally spells things in the style of the queen, being attractive doesn't hurt, nor does having an awesome taste in books, music, and movies, or liking games of all kinds.

I really don't care what our match percentage is, so long as you can't watch Fox News and appreciate it for anything outside of its comedic value. As a disclaimer MSNBC is slightly less awful, but still the other side of terrible.

you wanna play video or board games with me. (especially if it's civ 5, league, risk, stratego, or connect 4)

you wanna play pool with me.

o se ti vuoi parlare Italiano con me...

ou Francais, qui marche aussi...

I don't really know what I'm looking for, but I'm fumbling through new friendships while I find out all the things I love and dislike.
