My Self-Summary
I'm a native to Denver, CO. I enjoy reading fiction (Andre Dubus,
A.M. Homes, Mark Doty, etc.) writing fiction and non-fiction pieces in my spare
time. This summer I was lucky enough to take a fiction writing
course at Metropolitan State College of Denver. I enjoy foreign
languages, specifically Spanish. I have very few friends, but
the friends I have remain close to me and in my heart. I would like
to spend a year in Mexico after graduation, before heading
to graduate school (hopefully Iowa's creative writing program).
Family is important to me, I am closer to my father, but feel more
open to speak my mind to my mother. I have two lovely cats I live
with, I am thankful every day for being in such cute company.

What I’m doing with my life
I just returned from a semester abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico. I
loved every minute of it, the entire experience was simply too
incredible to describe. I learned much, and will always have a
special place in my heart for such an amazing country. This fall I
will be in Madrid, Spain. I received a grant to be a teacher's
assistant for the 2009/2010 school year. I am very excited and
nervous for this endeavor, but I know whenever I am scared to
confront my fears, it usually turns out to be the best moments of
my life.

Listening to people when they need someone to talk to. I am a very
empathetic listener, it's important for me to be there for those
people, especially when it only takes the time to sit down and
