My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you asked my family, they'd tell you that I'm the free spirit of the bunch...the one who always wants to try new adventures and explore the world! I have what my mother calls "the wanderlust," which both thrills and worries her to no end, and which has also led to more than a few good stories during the last 32 years. I believe that a lot of what we have when we're old are our stories, and my goal is to tell the best ones in the nursing home (if I can remember them!).

By day, I'm a self-employed market research consultant who helps big companies understand consumer behavior. In my spare time, I work on checking items off of my bucket list. A trip to the World Cup this year is in the works, and I keep pseudo-planning the trips I'll eventually take to Antarctica and Australia. I keep plugging away on my novel idea and am finishing a full family history on

As for day-to-day downtime, I'm a bar and movies kind of girl. My friends and I do pub trivia every Tuesday and are a pretty fierce team to beat (not that I'm competitive or anything. :) ) I spend a lot of time going to dinner with friends, seeing new movies or singing karaoke. My favorite thing to do is to try new places/events/experiences around DC and a lot of my down time is spent in pursuit of this.

I'm looking for someone who has a similar perspective on life and similar interests. Being smart, genuine and confident is a must. Feel free to drop me a line if you think we'd get along!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a market research consultant. I help companies understand why you do (or don't) buy their products.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing karaoke, making meatballs, reading people, knowing music and TV facts from the 80's, laughing at myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: The Godfather, Casino Royal, My Blue Heaven, Pride and Prejudice, The Thomas Crown Affair

Shows: Game of Thrones, True Detective, Scandal, Downton Abbey, Sherlock, any Law and Order rerun.

Books: The Count of Monte Cristo, The Dirt by Motley Crue. (I'm pop culture geek.)

Music: I'm all over the map with music but my favorite song is "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie and my favorite artist is Otis Redding.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
*Iced Coffee
*Internet access
*A comfy pair of shoes
*Cheap flights to exotic places
*Good friends, my sister, my mom and, of course, my niece and nephew.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Work. I'm self-employed--If I don't think about it, I don't get paid.
- Wondering what I told myself I needed to get at Target.
- Which show I should binge watch next on HBOGo/ Netflix
- What's the plan for this weekend
- What is this song and how did it end up in my library?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out to dinner with friends, at someone's apartment, at the movies, at a bar.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Again, in no particular order (except the first two)...
- You're smart.
- You can make me laugh.
- You're open-minded about people, places, foods, experiences, life.
- You realize that neither your Myers-Briggs personality type nor your position on the Oxford comma make you interesting.
- You don't have some odd sexual fetish you're on OKC to fulfill (really, there are specific sites for what you want, go there).
- You like and/or are not allergic to cats.
- You can teach me something new.
