Your Notes
Edit your notesI am Creative, Kind, and Clever.
My Self-Summary
I never know what to say when describing myself. Some amount of modesty tells me I'll only be bragging, but that's because I'm proud of who I am, my morals, my values. I'm friendly, intelligent, creative, sarcastic, patient, among other things. I'd say it's best just to talk to me and see, but that defeats the purpose of this.
I feel I'm mature for my age. I know many people say this, but here's my case: since I was 18 I began to pay for everything in my life; rent, bills, food, school bills, and all loans are in my name for me to pay. Last year I worked 40 hours while going to class full time. I'm polite and calm. I've always been friends with older people (which is odd for a guy). And I'm not even 20 and I desire kids and marriage, but I'm smart enough to wait.
I love to understand people. Like many I'm often the friend therapist. I've talked to many people that just found it easy to open up, and more over appreciated my advice. I have something more than a casual interest in human psych. From dream analysis to guessing motives of described people. I only have good intentions with it, and certainly love to listen to anyone.
I'm an artist in multiple ways. I might be spread a little thin; however, it's not my talent in each field, but the expression it grants me. That being said I'm a rather talented with drawing, writing, and composing. However I also enjoy just about any medium to some degree. Even cooking and programming feels like creative expression to me, some way in which I can put myself into something.
I'm a polite guy. I rarely swear. I hold open doors even when it bothers people. I hate borrowing, I love giving. I'm the guy that my friend's parents love. I can't watch someone do work of any kind without feeling guilty until I help.
This isn't to say I'm Mr. Innocent. With the exception of hard drugs, I've tried many things at least once. I'm clean bean now, but anything is worth an experience. I was once described by a Filipino girl as a maginoo, which is apparently a term for a non-traditional gentleman. Some one who is polite without being a goody two shoes.
I'm something of a nerd and/or geek. A love and aptitude for technology. A natural talent for math and logic. I'm well read. I'm a bit of a movie snob though I'll watch anything once. I'm an anime fan, though only the more complex shows. I am a gamer, and though interested in many I do not play all the time; I can go weeks without playing anything or may get hooked on one for some time.
To work on a previous point; I'm logical. I love to debate as an exchange of knowledge, not a personal fight. I'm very much so an atheist, not even a bit agnostic. I'm open to any conversation. I tend to be a little more serious than silly, but I'm still a funny guy. My jokes just tend to be topical or clever than slapstick or shock humor.
I am a laid back person. Not to say I don't get nervous or organized, but often I can remain calm in any situation. I'll approach any conversation or situation with the utmost respect, and will try to take on any topic to the best of my ability no matter how awkward.
I'll add more as time goes on I guess.
What I’m doing with my life
I can say I'm making the most of the things I love. I see friends more than often. Even when at home I have some personal projects like an internet radio station or art or the like.
I’m really good at
That aside I'm quite the thinker. Both creatively and logically. From putting together a solid story to designing just about anything. I adapt fast, and can make something beautiful of it.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm very well read. Currently my passion is Umberto Echo books, but I appreciate many authors from Steinbeck, to Vonnegut, to Virgil. I couldn't even begin listing all that I've read. Even though I list very few and only well known authors here, I do so for a general idea. Chances are I've read or at least heard of most books you can mention.
Movies:
Can't say I'm a fan of theaters, but good movies come to mind: The Fall, Waking Life, Ghost in the Shell, Akira Kurosawa's Dream, so on. I like movies, and I'll give anything at least one shot. About the only genre I can't stand is that subsection of comedy that I like to call 'stupid humor'. I can tolerate it, but sex and childish jokes only go so far.
Music (in alphabetical order):
.sylCMYK, Adelle, The Andrew Sisters, Asuka Sakai, The Beatles, Beirut, Billie Holiday, Bob Crosby, Bob Dylan, Brendon Small, Bright Eyes, Chet Baker, Coco Rosie, Cole Porter, Daft Punk, The Doors, Ella Fitzgerald, FORCE OF NATURE, Girl Talk, The Good Life, Gorillaz, Greenskeepers, The Ink Spots, Jeremy Soule, Johnny Cash, Junior Brown, Kazami, Kow Otani, Matisyahu, MINMI, Modest Mouse, The Mountain Goats, Muse, Nirvana, Nobuo Uematsu, Nujabes, Radiohead, Retroboy, Roy Brown, Rush, The Shins, Simon and Garfunkel, Talking Heads, They Might Be Giants, Tsutchie, Ugly Casanova, and many many others.
Food:
Seems an odd thing to talk of. I like fruits an awful lot, any of them except pears. From strawberries, to kiwi, to peaches, to pomegranates. I dislike chocolate and coffee. I love brewed black sweet tea. I like plain foods for the most part. I am not a vegetarian, but I often go a long time without meat and I'm fine with vegetarian food.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Time and time again some might say to me "You look like you're deep in thought." or "You think things over a lot, don't you?" and all I can say is "It's a sad life to live if you do not desire to understand the world around you."
The Ancient Greeks had a word, something still used in philosophy: Logos. It refers to ultimate truths. The thing about Logos though is that though there are far more truths than every being in the universe could begin to understand, there are a limited number. I would like to understand as much as I can before my time is up.
