My self-summary
I am a peaceful vegetarian with an unselfish personality and a slightly sarcastic sense of humor. I am a vegetarian because I hate plants, and my mission is to eat them all before they take over the world. I can get along with omnivores, but probably not carnivores.

I tend to be rather shy and quiet, which makes meeting people difficult. I am on this site to help break down my barriers to a social life. I try and uphold the Golden Rule, and I often spend too much time in my head thinking about what is right and wrong. Because of that, sometimes I am slow to act, but I am much more open and carefree amongst friends.

I enjoy shopping at thrift stores. With the exception of my undergarments, all of my clothes are from thrift stores. I love polyester and nylon, but they are difficult to find around here.

Being a middle child, I am able to appreciate both sides of an issue. I firmly believe in my opinions, but I am centrally grounded enough to understand all sides. My style is passive and open, but I can lead when necessary. I am a giver and I like to please, but I do not liked to be used.

Well, that is me in summary.
What I’m doing with my life
I am actively seeking a full time elementary teaching position. Teaching is something I am passionate about. I very much enjoy being surrounded by learning. Let me know if you know of any open positions. I currently work as a substitute teacher.
I’m really good at
Being myself. In all situations, I am always myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I do not know. Never asked. Maybe you can tell me.

Often, other people tell me that I look like someone else they know. I guess I have a common face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like books. I always have at least one stack of library books on my floor. I believe that checking out a book is practically equivalent to reading it, but I do read everyday at lunch. In an attempt to understand religion, I am reading many books on religion; still waiting on the understanding. The last book I read was on yellow fever, and now I am into a book about the 1918 flu pandemic. I read mainly nonfiction because I enjoy learning new things.

My favorite books: The Alchemist, The Tao of Pooh, and The Prophet.

I do not have a favorite movie. I like independent cinema and the Darkside. Tend to gravitate toward comedies and action movies or light dramas

Music. I enjoy all types of music. The artists I recently listened to include Bob Marley, Donovan, Pet Shop Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Wolfmother, Connie Francis, and Fleetwood Mac.

I like food. I am a vegetarian and I like to cook. Lately, I have been making some cutlets, seitan, and lentils. I like all things sweet.
The six things I could never do without
butterflies, rainbows, lollipops, kittens, gravy, and flowers

but seriously, a frisbee, my pottery wheel, my garden, spices, my bike, and an electric kettle
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything. silent waters run deep. not that I am always thinking of deep things. just always thinking.

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about teaching, and how to best apply educational theories.

Also, politics, religion, spirituality. Just trying to figure it all out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually home and into something. I also go to many OSU sporting events, and many of those are on Fridays. I have only recently stopped working weekends, so my Friday evenings are more open than before, but I know I do not do a good job of jumping into the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I do not like talking on phones and I hate leaving messages. I would much rather do everything in person. My cell phone is mainly used for an alarm clock.
