My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Laid-back, silly, witty, spontaneous, open-minded, intellectual, Jamaican (no, I don't say "hey mon," yes I do love Cool Runnings despite the horrible accents in the movie). I'm comfortable in most any space, so I'm great at parties rubbing elbows with fancy people along with getting sweaty on the dance floor at Nonis. I have a pretty large group of friends who keep me busy most weekends doing something interesting.

I make references to movies and more often than not, quote a song or comedian to make my point. I live for banter, and conversations where 4 topics are being simultaneously discussed, because I'm just cool like that. I have a dry sense of humor, and I work best with someone who can match that or who's not easily offended. I tell my teenaged clients that they have yet to learn the art of cursing, and I firmly believe sentences are sometimes improved with just the right explicative. My vices include a strong margarita, binge watching funny shows and staying up way too late reading (currently World War Z). I'm not a morning person, but I can make it work if I'm tempted well enough.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I love my career path as a professional counselor. I've worked with people between the ages of 4 to late 60's, and I have found myself in some pretty interesting situations. Talking for a living is what I do, but I'm really gotten excellent at listening. Also, working with kids has taught me to try to enjoy life as much and as fully as possible, and that laughing at myself is generally the best way to respond when I inevitably do or say something awkward. I'm also an (amateur) DJ on the side, or so my friends say. The jury is still somewhat out, but I keep getting asked to do it, so I guess I'm doing something right.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Noticing small details but missing very obvious things and asking questions to confirm these two. Identifying songs, and talking for far too long in a rambling manner about music that I love, so you may have to tell me to shut up. Setting the right mood with music at house parties, and criticizing djs when they make a mess of their sets. Getting lost, so hopefully you're good with directions. Putting people at ease and then making a very inappropriate joke to lighten the mood. Having great conversations about whatever pops into my head, since I sometimes fail to censor myself.
The first things people usually notice about me

The fact that I'm usually smiling. My tiny ears come next.

Music – Depending on my mood, I go from Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra to Celia Cruz to The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and NIN. Caribbean music obviously, which provides energy unlike anything else you can find. I really could go on for a long time about this.

TV – 24, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The Daily Show, Happy Endings, True Blood, The Wire, Game of Thrones

Movies – The 40 Yr Old Virgin, Die Hard, Say Anything, The Apartment.

Books- Harry Potter, GoT, On Love by Alain DeBotton, Pride And Prejudice. I've recently started reading The Walking Dead graphic novels, and it's amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
People: Family/Friends
Fake mustaches (you'll have to ask me why)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can help others transform their lives and become empowered, self-assured, balanced, and fulfilled.

What my next Halloween costume will be. Growing up in Jamaica, I missed out on trick or treating. Also, having a Nov 1 birthday makes things extra special.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing and planning what trouble I'm getting myself into on Saturday. Fridays are underrated though.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I've been to a Britney Spears concert, and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a random offer from a friend, and it was free.

You're witty, intellectual, unafraid of laughing at yourself, enjoy dancing or making attempts to do so, and would like to explore the city in all its glory.

Message me your best joke, please. I'd love a laugh, and to know that you read my entire profile. ;) And be warned, I'll reply with my best joke, too. I don't promise it will be a good one, but you'll get one! Looking forward to getting to know you.
