My self-summary
Dividing my time about 70/30 between my new home New York and my hometown Los Angeles. (In case you were wondering, my Los Angeles = beach/hiking/nature & avant grade theater/music scene mixed in with the film crowd. Although I am quite aware of many of the other LAs you can easily submerse yourself in.) I came to New York for work and it's been great so far. See the next section for that.

One goal for this summer, my second summer in NYC, is to explore outside the city. I need to find good hiking accessible from the city for my sanity. I love the city, but the biggest thing I miss about LA besides the year-round sun is the easy access to nature.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a video/multi-media and scenic designer for live performance, theater and installation. Some production design and art dept for film/tv. My schedule is erratic and I travel a lot. Every project is a completely new challenge.
I’m really good at
Collaborative arts!
Synthetic thinking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm smart and kind and I love dogs. I'm good at what I do.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Invisible Man, Middlesex, Huck Fin, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, The House on Sugar Beach, The Hunger Games, Everything Is Illuminated, Caleb's Crossing

Movies: Best movies I've seen recently and wouldn't mind discussing with YOU: Another Earth; The White Ribbon; Life of Pi; Beasts of the Southern Wild; Tokyo Sonata; Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, et al; Moonrise Kingdom; Waste Land; Drive; Me and You and Everyone We Know; Melancholia; The Mill and the Cross; You, the Living; Winter's Bone

Music: In LA, my car radio is tuned to KCRW or KCSN. In NYC, I find new music through podcasts - NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, Sound Opinions & All Songs Considered & KCRW's Today's Top Tune.

Food: If it's good, fresh and doesn't involve red meat.

My favorite moments of theater: 4:48 Psychosis, Topdog Underdog, Othello by Cheek by Jowl, Will Power's Flow, Dave Gorman's Googlewack, The Producers, Sweeny Todd revival, Lynn Redgrave's Nightinggale, Doubt, Dublin Gate THeater's Waiting for Godot, Slava's Snowshow, Avenue Q, Royal Shakespeare Company's King Lear, Deaf West's Big River, Societas Raffaello Sanzio's Purgatorio, Sleep No More, Arias with a Twist, Big Art Group

On a typical Friday night I am
Working in studio or seeing a show. May involve a glass of wine or two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I almost never read other people's favorites lists. It is much more interesting to talk about those things in person because the passion and criticism just doesn't come through in a list.
