My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
OkStupid. Most of this is still accurate but it's still due an overhaul. It's been a while and all that. I'll get to it when I find the time..

Inspiring quote:

Those who love wisdom must investigate many things.

Self summary..where to start? I could write about my living situation, job, social status, car, cat, etc...but there's more to life than all of that. My cat is the exception here - she is amaze-balls.

Learning is a constant, challenging activity. The strange thing about learning is it reveals how much infinitely more there is to know. There's something comforting about that to me. Similar to looking up at the stars. Nothing makes me feel smaller than looking toward the heavens - another comforting thing.

I want to say I'm open-minded but what does that even mean in this day and age? I can say I am working on being more mindful in the moment and mentally present. It's an on going process. Focusing the mind is much easier said than done and to that end I am taking meditation classes as a way to improve. Yogas citta vrtti nirodha. It also helps to understand life which is like getting a clue into the greatest mystery of all.

Perspective is so important and it's almost cliché to say but the golden rule is an amazing code to live by. It does no good if you only require it from others. I truly believe the best way to treat others is how you want them to treat you. Give what you want to receive. There's a strange sense of dualism there and these kinds of philosophies fascinate my brain.

In a partner I am looking for a courageous, independent woman of integrity. A free thinker who questions everything and can handle a little flak thrown her way from time to time. Confidence, discernment and brains are so important - and sexy. There are obviously other elements like physical attraction, some kind of chemistry and whatnot that also need to be there. The character and quality of a woman is an absolute must.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work to live, not the other way around. This past year brought with it many great things and I am preparing myself to take the next steps in life. A big part of that is finding my better half, soul mate, best friend, life partner or whatever you like to call it.

I try to exercise in a more holistic way. This includes: tai chi, kung fu, drumming and a workout when I find the time. It's very encouraging to see results physically and I'm really interested in improving my body movement and mechanics.

What I eat is increasingly on my mind and while I by no means have a great diet, I am interested and motivated to improve it. Along with eating better I am trying to avoid GMO or GE foods. The best way I find to do this is to buy local. Thankfully there's a co-op down the street and an awesome farmers market during the summer.

Music is something I want to do more of. Drumming, karaoke, open mics, going to shows, guitar-ing, rocking out while driving, you name it. It's such an expressive thing that I can't really put my finger down on any one thing. I'll take all of the above, please.

Karaoke - makin' a fool of me
Weaving sarcasm into circumstance
Card games
Taking responsibility for my actions

Probably the hair or the height. Maybe some teeth if I'm smiling. What do you see?

This is by no means exhaustive. Consider this a sample of what comes off the top my head.

Heros: JFK, Old Hickory, Noam Chomsky

Authors: Tim Powers, Philip K. Dick, George R. R. Martin, Friedrich Von Hayek

Podcasts: No Agenda. If you listen to this I would love to chat about it, seriously!

Movies: The Big Lebowski, Rounders, Avatar, Star Wars 4 - 6, American Gangster, Swingers, The Goodfellas, Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, LotR.

TV: House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Arrested Development, 30Rock, Battlestar Galactica, documentaries, anything that offers a different view of the world we live in today.

Music: I like music when things get weird. Current artist I'm beginning to explore: Frank Zappa. In art, empty or negative space can be very powerful and it's the same in music. Mixing rythms, separate pieces that all blend and compliment each other are incredible. Deep, intentional lyrics with layers of meaning are a personal favorite. I bet you can guess my favorite psychedelic metal band - care to try?

Food: Spicy & savory. I'll eat undercooked steak and fish but prefer my poultry well done. Bacon is about the only pig I eat. I love breakfast, lunch and dinner...even more when I spread each out over a couple meals. Smaller portions, more often. Side note: romanesco broccoli is absolutely stunning.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Escaping into music
The people in my life - friends, family and loved ones
Seattle - it is home
Olive Oil - my cat who greeted me when I adopted her
Doing new things
Spotting opportunity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Process. Short, medium and long term goals. How and why people use things.

Scale. Sacred geometry. The Power of 10 video I saw many many years ago. Interesting fact: The universe, our milky way galaxy and an atom all have an amazing trait in common: they are 99% empty space. Incredible!

Breathing well. Meditation. How much can be learned from looking within? I am searching for something spiritually that makes sense. Taoism is on my radar.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
What is typical? I prefer my Fridays to be atypical. That being said, often times I'm so looking forward to the sleeping in of Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Ask me something private and maybe I'll share.

You realize relationships take a lot of work. Communication, mutual equality and learning how to "fight well" might just be a major keys to long term success.
