My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a passionate person; I don't believe in doing anything without a full, dedicated effort. My philosophy in life is to live without regret - a regret is a learning experience taken for granted.

Communication is very important to me. I’m very thoughtful and open with my feelings, opinions, philosophies, etc. I thrive on conversation, and enjoy the company of others who do also. We can sit with a hot beverage on a patio and talk for hours if you’re interested.

Humor is also essential; I have a tendency to be silly when hanging out with friends, jumping from serious conversation to lighthearted laughter. Incorporating both spontaneity and routine is crucial. I’m an extrovert, though have come to appreciate and require my downtime as I’ve gotten older. The underlying message here is balance.

I’m a hopeful romantic. Hopeless sounds very defeating. I'm not interested in dating folks with an expectation that it will end, and I don't know why people bother expiration dating. Ideally, the next relationship will be the one that becomes a partnership - for life. If you're definition of long term is six months to a year, move along. I know what I'm looking for in the romance department, and you should too.

From the Midwest originally, I have some traditional values. My family is incredibly important to me; they are also some of my best friends. And my best friends are also like family. It's hard living away from them, but makes the time together incredible.

I settled in DC after growing up in Michigan, I spent some time living in Florida, a brief stint in California, and a last attempt back in Michigan. I couldn’t resist a city, and so here I am three years later.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm learning, growing, and enjoying the ride.

More specifically, I'm working full-time in a training and development role, resisting my thesis, and spending quality time doing the things that make me happy.

My favorite book is an old childrens' story called "The Little Prince". It's generally about the things in life that we lose sight of as we grow up and what is truly important.

I also really enjoy Life of Pi, The Lord of the Rings, Sword of Truth series, A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Dark Tower series, and Harry Potter.

Musically, I enjoy almost all genres. With the exception heavy/screaming metal/rock. Some favorites include The Fray, Lady Gaga, MIKA, Scissor Sisters, One Republic, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Matchbox 20, Eminem, and others. A lot of Top 40.

I'm a pretty simple eater... sandwiches, cereal, fruit.

Some favorite movies include Coyote Ugly, Life As a House, Pitch Perfect, Latter Days, TransAmerica, The Lord of the Rings, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, The Devil Wears Prada, and any movie with Madea in it.

Life. As generic of a response as that may be, it's true. Where I'm at, who I am, where I want to go, and what will help me to grow and achieve my aspirations. It's important to be introspective and self-aware. Also, where to find a quality man.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
You're more likely to find me at home or somewhere low-key with friends than you are at a club. I tend toward being a homebody, but I can still go out and have a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Probably that men frequently misunderstand me. Yes, I'm completely serious when I say here that I am looking to meet someone and settle down - marriage (and not the open kind) - but that doesn't mean I'm proposing to you when I tell you that, so no need to panic and run. Though it's not really private, or I wouldn't state it here.

...you're someone looking to make something real, not a silly, short-lived relationship. Obviously we don't know at first glance that someone is our future partner, but my ideal match is at least optimistic and hopes that the next person could be and would be glad if they were. Not open to settling down? Move on to the next.
