My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm in a committed, long-term, open relationship with an absolutely wonderful queer woman ellis8686 (if the link doesn't work, it may be because her profile is not viewable to all), and I'm interested in finding women who are respectful, intelligent, fun, and interesting for short-term dating and hooking up. I'd also like to make friends with people with similar interests (we can talk about books and go see weird and foreign movies together, or ramble on about music).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have my masters in library science and I'm currently an academic librarian who is also interested in perhaps working in a public library someday. I am always writing in my spare time - especially my thoughts on books and movies over on Goodreads and Letterboxd.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, reading, interesting long conversations, being a music encyclopedia, research, being curious, having no real skills
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look eerily like if Jason Schwartzman and Lou Barlow had a baby.

I am a voracious reader, huge cinephile, and I love music. It's really hard to list my favorites here because I would always be forgetting something. Right now I can't stop listening to the new Tune-Yards and St. Vincent albums. My favorite recent movies are probably The Master, Holy Motors, The Loneliest Planet, A Separation, Cabin in the Woods, Wreck-It Ralph, The Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, Upstream Color, The Past, The Unspeakable Act, Under the Skin, Her, Only Lovers Left Alive, Inside Llewyn Davis, Viola and Computer Chess. I think Terrence Malick, Wong Kar-Wai, Jane Campion, Agnes Varda, Julie Dash, Scorsese, Jim Jarmusch and Kurosawa are probably my favorite filmmakers ever but that changes on a daily basis I'm sure. I love the Criterion Collection. Often I wind up going to the movies alone so I'm always looking for people with similar interests to go see films with me and talk about it afterwards. I also have a love for cult film (Miami Connection, Phantom of the Paradise, stuff like that. Doesn't get much more fun.) I've also never quite left the nerd in me behind so I still really love fantasy, sci-fi and comic books (specifically Y: The Last Man, Saga, Manhattan Projects, Watchmen, Sandman, Batwoman: Elegy, All-Star Superman or basically anything Grant Morrison puts his hands on, Kelly Sue Deconnick's Captain Marvel, Matt Fraction's Hawkeye, anything by Gail Simone but especially Secret Six, Planetary, Daniel Clowes, Chris Ware, Anders Nilsen, Dash Shaw, Kate Beaton, Dwayne McDuffie, Kieron Gillen)

Books: I just finished The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and it was absolutely fantastic, as are all of her books. Stone Arabia by Dana Spiotta is another recent favorite. Huge fan of Murakami and Alice McDermott among a million other things.

TV shows: Rectify, Slings & Arrows, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Deadwood, Enlightened, Community, Happy Endings, Ben & Kate, Better Off Ted, Terriers, The Americans, Arrested Development, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Lost, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Orphan Black, Hannibal and the first 3 Star Trek shows are my favorites.

Food: I like food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family and friends.
Home cooking (especially girlfriend's home baked bread.)

The internet (unfortunately)
Carrots
The Nation (the newspaper, not our actual country)

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
where I'm going to go next in my life, social issues and the idea of privilege and various institutionalised disenfranchisment, whatever album/movie/book/tv show I am currently listening to/reading/watching, mindfulness and compassion, Buddhism/Unitarian Universalism, libararies
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going to the movies, maybe going to New York for a play, going to a show/concert, book club, or just staying in and relaxing. Dvring something off TCM.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can be very shy sometimes and deal with anxiety. That's where the mindfulness and compassion comes in.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are a woman who is interested in possibly casually short term dating or hooking up. You are anyone who has similar interests and wants to make conversation or a new friend.

I completely get that the open relationship thing is new and weird for many folks. If you have any questions about how this works for us, please feel comfortable asking me. I won't be offended or have any expectations if you do.
