Update: looking for a badminton partner/soul mate
Update: I'm now focusing on technological change and new media, I
no longer have a rooftop garden , and have started dancing.
I like to go to shows -- music, comedy, movies -- play sports and
board games, travel, play guitar, bike, and read. I'm looking
forward to cultivating my green thumb in the rooftop garden I
recently inherited. I grew up close to Minneapolis and lived there
most of my life, save the short stint I had as an ESL instructor in
Korea and even shorter stint as a permaculturist in Mexico. I
decided to come to NY because of my research interests in urban
sociology and consumption.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am studying for a PhD in sociology and am an adjunct professor. I
teach a class on US social movements. I also play a mean game of
ping-pong and love philosophizing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Weaving around slow walkers without them ruining my day. Decorating
Christmas cookies, at least according to my mom. carving
Jack-O-lanterns. Analogizing. Climbing trees. Avoiding bandwagons.
Enjoying gratuitous puns prefaced with an apology.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look European and don't have a Minnesotan (read Fargo) accent.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
illuminations, revelations, revolutions, coffee, the ability to

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
