My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a completely unashamed nerd in a plethora of ways and I'm overall fairly happy with my life. I love computers and technology, video games, card games, intelligent political discourse, watching horrible B-movies, and eating all kinds of wonderful food.

I am currently married to my wife of 8 years and we have recently decided to have an open relationship. So far it is working out well for both of us and it has done much to improve our personal lives.

I've lived in the Capital Region for about 4 years now and, while it is not my ideal place to live, I think I am adapting quite well. I aspire to one day return to the ocean from whence I came (I was born and raised in Florida) but currently the strands of fate are pulling me towards the west coast. That is a dream to be realized in the future, however. For now, I am here and will remain so.

I'm looking for people who share my hobbies, perhaps my intellectualism and love for all things electronic, and mostly just people who are good-spirited and like to hang out. I am not a party person at all. I rather detest the idea of assembling large groups of people for any purpose that does not involve twenty-sided dice, theatrical performance, or Mortal Kombat ladder matches. I feel that small groups are the best groups and that any voice in a crowd larger than 8-10 is not being heard on its own merits well enough.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working hard, working often, and finally feeling like I might be making something of myself. I've been working on the IT team behind the most successful state health exchange in the country for a year now and it feels good!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh. I am likely one of the most sarcastic people you will ever know, but I also know when to shut up and listen. I like to tell stories, and I'm very good at improvisational acting and comedy. At least I tell myself that, anyway.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Correct spelling and punctuation? If you mean what is most noticeable about me in person, however, I'm not sure. Perhaps once I meet a few people through here I'll take a poll!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Mostly fantasy novels, particularly the Drizzt novels by R.A. Salvatore and Dan Abnett's Eisenhorn (Warhammer 40K). I'm also fond of the classic works of Poe and Shakespeare as well as some of H.P. Lovecraft's work.

Movies: The Matrix, pretty much anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger, all of the Star Trek films (though I'm not overly fond of the reboot), Aliens, and probably lots more that would fill the page. I like action/sci-fi movies the best, but I like a good sprinkling of horror and suspense as well.

Shows: COSMOS, Breaking Bad, all things Star Trek, Supernatural, The Walking Dead.

Music: Anything Maynard James Keenan or Trent Reznor has ever done. Turn-of-the-millenium alternative (Korn, Disturbed, Green Day, Beastie Boys, etc.). Dubstep (guilty pleasure). Katy Perry (even guiltier pleasure). I'm pretty flexible though, so long as it's not country or gangsta rap.

Food: Ethnic dishes, particularly Indian, Mexican, or Chinese. Pretty much anything that isn't seafood (shrimp is acceptable). I have a love for "needless gluttony foods" as well, like bacon cheeseburgers or pizza covered in meat and cheeses.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Internet
A notebook (with writing implements)
Delicious food
My cat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Psychology, metaphysics, and the wonders of unknown space. I am an astronomy nerd and a computer geek and when I'm not entertaining thoughts of campaigns I want to run, I'm planning my next technological experiment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either running, playing in, or looking for a tabletop RPG game. Pathfinder, World of Darkness, Shadowrun, MechWarrior, D&D, you name it. Mostly Pathfinder, though.

Of course, lately the answer to this question is "working." VIVA LA NIGHT SHIFT!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I listen to Katy Perry while I do dishes or other housework. I am not ashamed.
