What I’m doing with my life

teaching middle school social studies in a suburban school. I will probably make a change to a more urban environment sometime in the nearish future, but for now, I am never bored at work and really enjoy what I do.

I’m really good at

hanging out with kids, listening, getting enough sleep, following through, having friends of all different ages, being honest, initiating, talking fast, trying new recipes, asking questions.

The first things people usually notice about me

that I don't have a southern accent even though I'm from the south

I love anything by Dave Eggers, Jhumpa Lahiri, the West Wing, Modern Family, R &B/Soul and Hip-Hop music, most music not in English, quinoa, avocados, blueberries, Indian, Thai, and Ethiopian food, coffee, and ginger tea.
