My Best Face? Really?

Sep 9, 2010

I read the OKC blog post on their app MyBestFace... I was intrigued. So I started a report there, rated the slew of photos they tossed my way, and waited a day 'til the results were in.

Apparently, my "best face" is a pic I always thought looked like a stock image for a second-rate university.

Here's the report: lildutchgrrl 1

The page says to me, "This photo of you is the ultimate face. It is superior at attracting the kinds of people you like."

...but the VAST majority of people who rated it (people OKC presented it and my other pix to) were straight males! I really don't care what they think/prefer -- I'd like to know what the queer females of a certain age near me like -- you know, the "people I'm looking for" in my profile preferences! *sigh* This could explain why the one with rainbow face paint lost out more than I'd expected...

I think the only way you're going to get the opinion of other women is if you change your preference to "gay".

An image of lildutchgrrl Yup, already tested MyBest(^Gay)Face, which is what http://www.okcupid.com/mybestface reverts to if your profile is set that way. My beef: If I'm logged in, and OKC can transfer my profile photo set into MyBestFace, why can't it also sort by my preferences? Or at least give me a second checklist, so that in addition to saying, "I identify as [liberal, introvert, etc.]", I can also select "I'd like to know what people who are [liberal, geeky, deviant, etc.] think about my photos"?
