My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a big-hearted gal with just the right amount of sarcasm, nerdy-ness, humor and realism. I am comfortable with people, but I'm still pretty darn shy. I love to laugh and I love making people do so too, and that need to hear a chuckle from another human being makes me want be want to be more social. Baby steps.

I'm not the kind of nerd that reads sci-fi though. Reality is odd enough for me. But yes, Dr. Who is on my list of things to binge watch (along with Buffy and Angel) and I was like a Smallville addict. I'm the kind of nerd that will get lost in the vortex known as Wikipedia, and other like-websites with passages chock-full of click-able nouns and verbs. Don't be impressed though, I'm more likely to reference a random Lativian pop song I've found and liked instead of a new quantum physics theory or something.

I clearly like hyphens.

Also, I'm an avid hockey fan. Even though I should be pissed at the league with their inability to, you know, not lock out all the dang time, the game and the antiquated social etiquette/politics associated with the culture is so fascinating.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Entry-level in the industry I'm schooled in, finally. I love it and all the stress it brings me. :)
I'm also trying to read all of the books and watch all of the things I missed out on during my schooling, which is hard because I work too much. :P
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I think I'm good at writing and think I'm funnier than I probably am. I also enjoy teaching myself everything via the internet (especially computer-related) and love to use Google to fix all of my friends' problems and just have them think I'm some sort of prodigy after remedying their issues. I'm also great at Hockey and almost made the Olympic team this year. Ok, actually that's a lie, considering I just learned to skate like 5 years ago, but I would have liked for it to happen, lol.

And I can also read people like a good book. It's fun.

I like to listen and learn about people. People have a tendency to spill their guts around me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How oxymoronic my last name is, upon meeting.

I have a loud laugh. I can't help it.

I'm probably the most random urban nerd you will ever meet. I love being a geek. I also love being "street-smart." I know my roots and am conscious of where I hail, but I never let my former circumstances hinder me or define my personality. Stereotypes suck, unless I'm the one that's making them. ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Book: The Giver, Americanah, Bossypants, What is the What, Friday Night Lights, anything by Kafka. I'm actually a lot more well-read than this list implies, but it's been a while since I've read any fiction, sadly, and I'm blanking at the command to regurgitate my favorite tales.

Movie: So many to write. The same goes for television shows as well, but I'll give a special shoutout to Breaking Bad which I'm fighting the urge to rewatch from the beginning. Honorable mention: Orange is the New Back.

Video Games: Metal Gear Solid, Sims 2, Ape Escape 1-3, Team Buddies, Legend of Dragoon (if only for the awesome menu music that I jam to), NHL 2000-2013, Gran Turismo (Damn you, ia license!), Batman, Infamous, GTA IV. Assassin's Creed is amazing right now, except for the fact that I've been stuck in a cave for the past two days because I can't double jump right.

Music: Michael Jackson (of course), Steely Dan, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Anita Baker, Finnish Music (don't hate), R&B, some Rap (even the "mindless droll" people claim they to hate yet dance to and know-all-of the-words-when-they're-drunk kind). In all honesty, I'll give anything an ear and won't hesitate to put it in the ol' iPod.

Food: oh, God; that list would be endless. There's nothing better than satisfying a food craving/hankering. I love soul food and Czech food (which I miss daily); I am a fan of the fattening, meat-heavy diets. I also would not turn down Italian or Bastardized (aka American) Chinese. Note I said American-Chinese, not Canadian-Chinese. It's too . . . authentic for my North American palette, haha.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-The internet, if only to watch old TV shows and commercials on it.
-Things on screens. I equally love computers and TV very much because of the info I grab from it.
-Cheese. Well, food in general.
-The people I love. I would have said "Friends and Family," but that's not necessarily synonymous with "the people I love", lol.
-Hockey. During the 2004 - 2005 season (or lack thereof) I was on life-support, lol.
-My legs. I love to walk and I don't thank them enough for the ability to take me where I want to go. Seeing someone in a wheelchair (or even in a cast) put things into perspective for me when I catch a case of the lazies. I'm blessed to be healthy *knocks wood*.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future in general. It's so weird to be at this stage in life where everything is possible, yet nothing is certain or set in stone. I feel like I'm racing the clock to complete my "American Dream."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching old shows on YouTube, calling dear friends o' mine, trying to finish long-overdue video games, reading about hockey, watching hockey, or noting the Bat-sign in the sky and gunning for the nearest telephone booth. My life is oh-so exciting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm really shy. Like, fo' real, fo' real.

I'm double-jointed and it hurts to sit "Indian style." I think God put my knees on backwards.

-You're not as shy as I am.

-You have a pulse.
I'm kidding.
