My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was born in California but moved to the East Coast at a young age, like a backwards frontier novel. I've lived in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Manhattan, and now Dallas. For me, home is where the family lives.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just bought a house, so it feels like I've been single-handedly supporting my local home improvement store of late!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at being thoughtful and acting playful. I also never show up to a friend's place empty-handed and generally make people feel at ease.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read fairly frequently, so this list could get unnecessarily long, but here are the current favorites: Persuasion, Wuthering Heights, The Way We Live Now, The Kindly Ones, The Book Thief, Let the Great World Spin, A Fraction of the Whole and The Elegance of the Hedgehog.

I'm all over the map when it comes to movies, though I seem to prefer titles that fall into two major categories: action films from the 80s and 90s or film adaptations of novels written by (mostly) British authors. Conceptually, it makes absolutely no sense to like both Die Hard with a Vengeance and The Scarlet Pimpernel, but in practice it's been pretty fun -- like eating healthy foods while enjoying ice cream on the side!

For TV, I like Arrested Development, OITNB, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Orphan Black, John Oliver, John Stewart, etc., though it probably says something about me that I initially thought of Broadway shows before answering this question...

When it comes to food, I try to eat local / seasonally where possible and like most cuisines, but avoid dairy and gluten.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Smartphone
Some R&R (yoga, warm bath, weekend getaway)
Farmers' markets
Family and friends
A good bottle of wine
A good wine bottle opener
