At ease with discussions of NPR's book club of the air and Sesame Street's Letter of the Day. I've been to Europe and the British Isles, but am at home on the great northern plains. I prefer the stark beauty of bare trees and fallow fields in early winter to the riotous colors of fall. I'm content with simple pleasure when the cultural and educational advantages of the big city are reassuringly close at hand.I'm looking for a man who recognizes all the great themes the art of life has to offer, but prefers to create his own variations. He'll miss me when I'm away and welcome me home with passion and delight. His laugh will warm my soul.

I live a life of the mind on a daily basis. Study, reading, writing, reflection--all part of the job and parts I love. So, while I definitely want a partner who is intelligent, articulate and engaged in worthy causes, what I crave most of all is a break from the life of the mind, life beyond the mind, if you will. Emotion, sensation, physical activity, intimacy of all kinds, daily routines, mutual friends. (That one of the strangest parts of on-line dating, I've discovered. When I have formed relationships this way they are very insular because we don't have a circle of shared friends.).

I'm a parish minister, serving a small congregation about one hundred miles south of The Cities. I've been in the ministry for 15 years and it's a great fit for me. I've spent too much time, however, on education and profession. Now it's time for meeting a life partner.
