My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"My Self-Summary...." I almost feel like I'm back in English class in college, ugh.. I've always believed we are our own worst critics, and think we should have other people write these for us! :P However, until we are all equipped with our own narrators and editors, I'll just have to stumble through as best I can. You can generally describe me in a few phrases. "I'm never happy unless I'm trying to ice-skate uphill." "It's the journey, not the destination." "New, longer lasting flavor." Well, not the last one :P

Why is there a field for income? You know, the one in that box over there ☞ Why would it matter how much I do or don't make? If thats important to you, sorry, you're in the wrong place, just rest assured I'm in a very stable and decently paying position.

I'm generally a hard worker, and pretty passionate about what I'm doing, regardless of what it is (though this doesn't necessarily refer to just work.). I'm very quick-witted, and fun to be around once I get to know you. I love to laugh, and love to make people laugh. I don't trust really easily, but I am pretty loyal, just don't try and take advantage of me. I'm willing to share what I have, but never try to take something of mine. I'm modest, and at times can be a little shy around other people (especially new people), but thats usually just because I have no idea what to say to these people that I've never met/seen/heard before in my entire life.

I have an independent streak about 3 miles wide and stretches from horizon to horizon. However, this does not mean I'm a commitment-phobe.

I'm terrible with names. It'll take me a time or three to correctly recall what someones name is. However I'll be able to recognize someone from a mile away for the rest of my life.

I have no patience for current illicit drug users. If you did it previously, so be it, we all have pasts, fine, no big deal, but I have no intention of attempting to compete for your attentions with a thinly veiled addiction. :)

I have a bachelors degree and have no doubt that one fine day in the near future I'll end up snowballing it into a masters, and then god forbid later on a doctorate. Natural progression, right?

I'm a devoted Cubs fan, even though Bartman has probably cursed us to another 70-80 pennant-less years. And don't even get me started on those damn southsiders! :P

I'm trying to build a sailboat on the lake. Why? Because I can. Because I already have the pirate flag and several bottles of rum. Well, wait, no, forget the rum. That had to be *ahem* disposed of... But I still have the flag! And a bandana! Now all I need is a parrot and an eye patch and I'm good to go. Maybe I can use the frozen chicken in the freezer.. Maybe glue some feathers on and attach some strings, make a little marionette out of it.. Yeah, thats the ticket, yeah..

You have to be slightly off kilter to get along in todays world and not go completely nuts or end up with an ulcer, don't you agree? :) If not, then you probably need to hit that nice little "Back" button in your upper left hand corner right about now. Yes, I can be slightly insane, and to prove it I'm the proud owner of an '03 Suzuki GSX-R600. I'm also an acute Anatidaephobia sufferer and I do accept donations on behalf of my local chapter to help fight this often debilitating ailment ;)

Honestly, I really don't like these things because you can never really learn something about someone from these things.. I mean, what do you know about me so far? If you really want to get to know someone, send a mail, or an instant message. If you decide later on you don't like them, hey, thats what the ignore button is for. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
What are any of us doing? Living. Waking, eating, working, dreaming.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Tennis.. computers.. Jeopardy.... writing... airsoft... running... emptying bottles of Guinness... watching the spedometer jump in increments of 10 as I fly down the highway... finishing a $30+, several hundred page novel in under a day, and then wondering why i just didn't go to the library to begin with....
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, I'm usually quiet around new people, until I get to know them, so chances are the first thing people notice about me (if you at all notice me in the first place) is how quiet I am. After I warm up and get to know you more people generally notice I'm pretty quick witted, loyal, sarcastic, amusing, and just downright loveable :D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
(a) Books? More or less just whatever may catch my interest in the bookstore, or god forbid if I should get on ebay or amazon. I have books from Tolkein, Stephen King, Charlaine Harris, Harry Turtledove, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, Tom Clancy, and a myriad of other books that I just picked up because they looked interesting and have no idea what the others names are. My literary tastes cross all boundaries.

(b) Movies.. Gosh.. This is a hard one.. not that you can't remember any good movies, but simply that there are so many that could go into this category, one could spend all night simply adding movies to this infernal list.. Top Gun (I fell the need, for speed!), SWAT (Tell daddy how you want it!), Gladiator, Die Hard Trilogy (Yippee kayay muthahfucka), Star Wars Films (yeah, what of it!?!?), Star Trek Films (Yeah, so? Bring it!), Dude Wheres My Car (Dude, you got a tattoo!), Boondock Saints (I like our new job!), Signs (I don't care what you say, it was a good movie!), Most of the Batman movies (c'mon now, he's the only superhero w/out super powers!). And see, right about here is where I start to draw a blank. Though I know the second you and I start talking movies, I'll remember some more good movies I like..

(c) I don't watch too much tv these days and I hate, with a passion, Everyone Detests Raymond, Friends, and Seinfeld, but I like (to name a few) Scrubs, House, Walking Dead, and Reno 911. Yeah, I'm weird like that :P Recently I've found myself watching less and less drama on television. Theres enough drama in the real world without seeing it in my spare time as well. Wouldn't you agree?

(d) Music.. Hmmm.. wheres that damn MP3 Player when I need it?? Alright, lets see if we can do this freehand.. Ah, screw it, where IS that damn thing... U2, 3 Doors Down, ACDC, Aerosmith, Alice Deejay, Alien Ant Farm, Beethoven, Blur, Bush, Carolines Spine, Cranberries, CCR, 2Pac, Dave Matthews Band, Deep Purple, Dido, Dirty Vegas, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Eiffel 65, Eminem, Eurythmics, Evanescence, Foo FIghters, Fuel, Goo Goo Dolls, Guns 'N Roses, Gwen Stefani, Ice Cube, Incubus, Inner Circle (c'mon, who can't resist the 'COPS' theme song!), Jay-Z, Linkin Park (luv the remix those two did together, simply smashing!), Jennifer Lopez, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimi Hendrix, Journey, Korn, Kylie Minogue, Limp Bizkit, LL Cool J, Lou Bega, Lynard Skynard, Marilyn Manson, MC Hammer (Can't touch this!), Metallica, Mozart, OutKast, Mudvane, Natalie Imbruglia, Nickelback, NIN, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Marvin Gaye, Puddle of Mud, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, Seether, Smashing Pumpkins, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Sound Garden, Stabbing Westward, Stain'd, Stephanie Cooke, Sting, STP, The Who, Tori Amos, Type O Negative, Vast, Venga Boys, Vertical Horizon, Verve Pipe, Will Smith. To name a few.. MP3 player can only hold about a thousand songs... (waxing poetically) Technology has only come so far... :( Le` sigh

(e) pretty much anything that doesn't move too fast. No peas though. The last person that tried to feed me peas got vomited on. Sorry Aunt Cath ;) And I make an absolutely great fettucini alfredo :D
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Hope.
2) Friends.
3) A cause. Something to fight for. A set of beliefs.
4) Independence.
5) Humor, laughter.
6) Socks. I gotta have socks.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

And lately, what the magic words are to entice a woman to respond to an email on here.. My usual modus operandi had been to try to find something different, unique, or something in common that I could message about and start a basis for a conversation. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be very effective as of late, so, I'm open to suggestions :)

Also, as of even more recent note, why people bother to reply to decent, thought out messages with one word responses. I mean, really, why even bother wasting the time, effort, and energy at that point if you aren't going to actually correspond?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I dunno, no Friday night is typical.. Could be any of a number of things of varying excitement and interest.. Ask me on a friday night sometime.

I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

If you ever have that feeling like you're at a party and not dressed right for the occasion. Then by all means, lets talk. ☻
