I am loyal, funny, and mischevious.
My Self-Summary
i'm a native Northern Californian who just can't seem to leave New
York behind.
i love movies; making, watching, and talking about them. i'm always
laughing at things, people, absurd situations... whatever.
consequently, if you can't handle being laughed at i am not your
lady. and yes, i can take it as well as dish it out.
i may come off as shy or reserved at first, but once i get to know
you it's a whole different story.
i'm generally pretty laid back and can have a good time just about
anywhere as long as the company is good.
What I’m doing with my life
i work in film production, the locations department specifically. i
work way too much and i love what i do.
when i'm not doing that i'm probably doing one of the following:
cooking, reading, sitting in a park with my friends, eating out,
watching an entire season of something on DVD in one sitting,
drinking whiskey (Makers please) and causing trouble.
other than movies, food is my big passion. i toyed with the idea of
culinary school for a while but as of right now i think i'll stick
with movies.
I’m really good at
hiding what a nerd i am. i don't mean like a "cool nerd" either,
i'm talking Tolkein, comic books (not graphic novels, comic books),
Phil Collins... real wedgie worthy stuff.
other than that: cooking, making people laugh, still being good at
my job while hungover, giving my friends good advice and then
ignoring theirs when they try to do the same.
The first things people usually notice about me
i would be lying if i didn't say my boobs. i think my smile's
pretty decent too though...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books: Middlesex and Catcher in the Rye are my favorite books of
all time. other loves: Chuck Palahniuk (up to a point), Nick
Hornby, Comic Books, Michelle Tea, Harry Potter, T.S. Eliot
(especially Prufrock), Shakespeare, Virigin Suicides, Nabokov, Dave
Eggers, Tolkein, Hemingway, trashy novels about British
people...
music: Led Zeppelin, Wolf Parade, St. Vincent, Joe Cocker, Fiona
Apple, Bloc Party, The Beatles, My Brightest Diamond, bad radio
hip-hop, Weezer, Heart, Joanna Newsom, Jimi Hendrix, The Blow, Bob
Dylan, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jeff Buckley,
Final Fantasy, Electric Light Orchestra, Bon Iver, Bill Withers,
AC/DC, Beirut, Rod Stewart, Wildbirds and Peacedrums, The White
Stripes, The Rolling Stones...
movies: Paul Thomas Anderson, Happiness, Shawshank Redemption,
Heavenly Creatures, Superbad, Virgin Suicides, Fletch, Christopher
Guest, All the Real Girls, Lord of the Rings, Caddyshack, Gone With
the Wind, Sleeping Beauty, Office Space, Batman (Burton and Nolan),
Clue, Detroit Rock City, Bond, Secretary, Almodovar, Old School,
About a Boy, Platoon, Alfonso Cuaron, Chinatown (but mostly the
part where Jack Nicholson slaps Faye Dunaway)
tv: Mad Men, Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, Batman the
Animated Series, 30 Rock, Venture Bros, Ru Paul's Drag Race, Curb
Your Enthusiasm, True Blood, any and all cooking shows, Undeclared,
The Office, Friday Night Lights, My So Called Life, Clone High,
Summer Heights High (almost anything to be totally honest)
food: burritos, cheeseburger, my mom's enchiladas, sushi, my dad's
ribs, salmon and foie gras.
it's probably worth mentioning that i really like sports too. if i
don't have plans on a Sunday i will be watching football and i'm
constantly looking for people to go laugh at the Knicks with me.
you don't have to like sports, just be aware that i do.
The six things I could never do without
food
sexy time
moisturizers for all of my various surfaces (ie: conditioner,
lotion, lip balm, etc...)
headphones with music in them
pantless time (i rarely have pants on when in my own home)
time alone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
really life-changing shit. ie: what kind of creature i'd like to be
if i lived in Middle Earth, if i will ever meet Christian
Bale/Kristen Stewart, sex, sex with Christian Bale/Kristen Stewart,
what to make for dinner...
but also: homelessness, the bullshit idea that is "post-racial
America", how to improve public transportation in San Francisco,
how to see my family more often, why there aren't more women in
power in the film industry. ya know, fun stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
either passing out early or wreaking havoc on a bar/party/my liver
with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
i am terrified that someone i know will see my profile but i'm
doing this anyway.
You should message me if
you read past the part where i said i loved Tolkein.
