My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just moved to NYC in late May, and I'm living in Harlem. If you also live in Harlem you should tell me where to hang out. I'm looking for friends or more if we seem to click.

I'm creative, smart, and sweet. I make art, and being an artist is the most important part of who I am. I'm an introvert who's picky about the people I bring into my life, but I'm a loyal friend to those I let in. I don't drink alcohol, smoke anything, or use drugs. I'm trying to live my life by the Golden Rule. I'd like to get better at compersion. I want to continuously grow, learn, and become a better person.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved to NYC from AZ to work in printmaking, and I will be relocating to the DC area in September to do more printmaking. I'm not sure where I will be in November.

I just bought a vintage Trek road bike, and it's my new baby. I'm trying to ride as much as I can.

Currently I spend a lot of time:
- reading my Kindle on the subway
- trying to get into yoga (and falling over a lot)
- lamenting the loss of Mexican food in my life and longing for good flour tortillas
- trying to learn how to cook passable Mexican food
- attempting to ride bicycles for longer distances and starting at all the vintage road bikes I walk by
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Using my hands. I can draw well, and I pick up new art media easily. I'm good at building things and fixing things. I really like braiding my hair in elaborate ways. I just learned how to embroider.

Riding my bike with no hands on the handlebars.

Developing terribly inconvenient sleeping schedules.

Finding the most depressing things possible to watch on Netflix.
The first things people usually notice about me

I've heard that I look innocent.

Books: I have a special place in my heart for Steinbeck, especially The Grapes of Wrath. I can proudly answer almost any Harry Potter trivia question. Recently, I've dabbled in some Murakami, and I just finished Everything is Illuminated (let's talk about this book if you've read it!).

Movies: The Fountain, Lost in Translation, Spirited Away (or anything else Miyazaki), Rachel Getting Married, Mean Girls, Paprika, The Tree of Life. The movie Secretary changed my life.

Shows: 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, PBS Newshour, Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, Orange is the New Black.

Music: Rilo Kiley, Death Cab for Cutie, Sufjan Stevens, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, Joanna Newsom, The Postal Service, Au Revoir Simone, Metric, Advance Base, almost any band that has pretty girls with pretty voices.

Radio: Wiretap, This American Life, Radiolab.

Food: Breakfast food at any time of the day, homemade macaroni and cheese, Mexican food, perfectly ripe peaches, and ice cream in waffle cones. I've recently gone bananas for bananas.

- my eyes
- my hands
- art
- my friends
- physical affection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Making art and being an artist. I am curious about how different types of art are made and the motivations that people have behind creating art. I love going to galleries and museums to look at art, especially contemporary art.

- How to start up conversations with attractive people on the subway.

- What I can do better next time.

- How I think it's impossible for someone to have "little or no interest" in group sex.

- How to better communicate with other humans.

- If Jenny Lewis will ever make good music again

- bicycles

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to show me around the city.

You have an open heart and open mind. You like creating art, looking at art, or talking about art. You want me to teach you about printmaking. You listen to awesome radio shows like This American Life, or if you know who Jonathan Goldstein and Howard Chackowicz are. You like math, science, or technology, and you want to teach me things. You like sad songs with pretty voices that make you cry. You want to nerd out over vintage road bicycles and be my bike riding buddy.

You're trying to be more adventurous and would like to help me be more adventurous as well.

I don't smoke, drink, or use drugs. I've tried all in the past, but I have found that my life is better without those substances. I don't mind hanging out with people who drink or smoke pot on occasion, but I'm not interested in dating someone who smokes cigarettes.
