I am kinda crazy, blunt, and clever.

My Self-Summary

I'm probably not your average girl. I like to read and watch a lot of science fiction, fantasy and horror (it's also what I like to write). I do like to shop a bit and get dressed up, but I'm pretty laid back. I play video games when I have the time, which is not too often (and I have a limited selection, due to only having one system). I also enjoy learning things and I often whip out random information about some obscure topic. I love to cook, I play a lot of rock band and guitar hero, and if I had the time I'd read more.

What I’m doing with my life

I just graduated college and I'd been studying mostly creative writing along with some other things. Now, I guess I plan on maybe working in publishing to support my writing habit (Hi, my name is Blaine and I have a problem...). I'm currently waiting to hear about a submitted story and working on some others, looking for a job until I manage to get into an MFA program. And dreading the idea of the GREs.

If you're seeing this on quick match and want to rate me well, then just message me. Seriously, quick match kind of drives me nuts.
Also, winks are for cowards. Really, can you not write something up that is short and sweet, or long and interesting? Its a pretty easy task. Here, I'll even start it for you:

Hey Blaine, my name is ____ and I thought ____ about your profile...

Also you should take my matchme test ( http://www.okcupid.com/matchme?u=littlekumquat ) just because I want to see what the hell it does.

I’m really good at

This section seems a bit strange to me, I'd say most of what I think I'm good at is subjective. Anyway, I'm probably really good at writing (I hope), cooking, science and math, telling the truth, and making things with my hands.

I'm also good at coming up with fairly ridiculous exclamations or situations. Recently I have taken to finding ways to use Stephen Moyer's pronunciation from True Blood (he pronounces Sookie as soo-KAY, and its pretty hilarious).

The first things people usually notice about me

My awesome glasses (if I'm wearing them), that I'm pretty short (5'0") and my often foul language.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books, TV and movies, as I said before, usually fall into scifi, horror, fantasy and also crime solving and such (Criminal Minds, etc.)
Music is a but more wishy washy, I like rock mostly but the type of rock depends on what I've been recently exposed to.
I'm a big foodie, so I like almost anything. I do eat meat, and I respect others that don't (I couldn't not considering the type of people I have for friends/have met in college). I just think animals are pretty darn delicious.

The six things I could never do without

Computer connected to the internet, something to write with/on, my very few closest friends, Mystery Science Theater (I constantly have this streaming on my computer), a well stocked kitchen and books.

Nerd option: Dihydrogen monoxide, Adenosine triphosphate, 0.07mm thick pressed wood pulp, a mixture of solvent and pigment to stain said pulp, and obviously wikipedia/google.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

New ideas for stories. Recently, I was ice skating with some guy in overly tight "punk" style skinny jeans. This lead me to the idea of Vampires on Ice. I'm not sure if it will go anywhere, but I like the title at least.

Fun often mind blowing fact: The human brain will signal to start preforming an action somewhere around 100 milliseconds before the thought to do said action is created. If you just went to scratch your head or raise your eyebrows, you started the action before you even thought to do it. The brain is a crazy place.

On a typical Friday night I am

Well, it depends. There are a few options.
1) At a bar/club/restaurant, probably with friends, definitely involving alcohol
2) In my room reading/playing games/on the web/making food for myself and/or others
3) At a (fairly) small party hanging out with friends and either getting trashed or just enjoying some time around others
4) In my room trying to write but managing to find some way to procrastinate (like looking if there every was some sort of Vampire thing done on ice and how well it went)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I get really annoyed at people who have fairly unscientific and extremely unfounded fears/ideologies/biases/etc. One example is people who believe that medicine doesn't work or that doctors only push drugs for the money. This isn't particularly private, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it!

You should message me if

If you want to have a ridiculous conversation about anything from how food feels to what really happens on the dark side of the moon (actually, there is no dark side of the moon..).

More seriously, if interested in anything I've babbled on about on this page. I like to talk to people just to have an interesting conversation anyway, even if that's all it will be, and even if it's just simple and not crazy (though it may end up that way because I do enjoy that).

But if you're looking for more than just a conversation, you should be around my age and somewhat compatible. Really I'm not looking for any one night stands or anything like that, so only message me if you actually want to talk like normal people (or weird people, just not horny assholes...bad things might happen then...)

And please don't message me if the only pictures you can find of yourself are taken in the mirror or with a camera phone at arms length. Seriously. Almost every digital camera has a delay setting, and if all else fails, friends act as amazingly gracious camera holders.
