My self-summary
I have a lot of interests. My work is creative. I am both a visual artist and a writer. My work requires a certain amount of isolation, so I compensate by being fairly active and social on the weekends. I have an amazing community-- or several communities-- of friends. I'm really blessed in that domain!

Travel is my passion. I would love to spend more time adventuring around the world! Luckily there are many great activities in the Bay Area. Hiking, kayaking, biking, camping are all great, but I'm not into extreme or competitive sports. I ski too-- but the knees are not so happy afterwards.

I enjoy the creativity and instant gratification of cooking a yummy meal for family and friends. A French ex-mother-in-law influenced me on all things "food" at a pivotal time in my life. A lively dinner party with close friends is my favorite way to socialize. On the home front, I have two intelligent and athletic teenage sons. They keep me busy as high school is a high-pressure time. (Though I only have one at home now-- the younger one is living abroad this year!)

I think it's important to be kind, considerate, empathic, and to be a good listener. I love cuddling and feeling physically close.

Of late, I've become enamored with the rooftop pool at UCSF Mission Bay. I've added swimming on top of my yoga practice. It will test my resolve, over the winter, to see how cold and rainy it must be before I stop swimming outside.

I speak French fluently, and Spanish "enthusiastically" which means I can communicate, but only in one verb tense. Once upon a time, I was able to haggle in Mandarin.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an illustrator and artist and author. I've written and illustrated a graphic novel. I am diving into another book project now.
I’m really good at
I am a loyal, affectionate friend and a nurturing mom to my kids.
I am excellent at connecting people-- both socially and professionally.
I'm a damn good cook who doesn't need a recipe to come up with something delicious.
I have a strong sense of aesthetics. I really need to have my personal space be ordered and beautiful.
I can sniff out awesome restaurants in cities I've never been to.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like variety in books, movies, music, etc. I read a lot, both fiction and non-fiction. I keep up with contemporary fiction and non-fiction. The New Yorker and The Times are staples! I'm a bit of an NPR junkie. Please feel free to change the station to music in the car. I don't watch much TV, though the kids and I sometimes get hooked on a series we stream off of Netflix.

I love to go to galleries, and museums and keep on top of the cultural scene.

I'm happy always to go to a concert, the theater, or see a live performance of any sort. I'm so-so regarding sporting events, but will always keep a loved-one company, if that's what they like to do!

I love food and have an adventurous palate. Luckily San Francisco offers so much variety. I love to cook for friends and family and a dinner party is often my preferred way to socialize.

Creative projects, and staying on top of my to-do list.
On a typical Friday night I am
Living in San Francisco, there's no such thing as "typical." I like to go to music events, art events, out to dinner with friends, or if it's raining, just spend a cozy evening at home. If my son begs me, I'll take him to a sporting event. Even if sports are not my "thing", I'm a nice mom.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
