My self-summary
I'm new to the Portland area and don't really know how to meet people around here. At a bar? Not my style. Right now I'm just putting my vibe out there, looking for someone to hang out with and maybe it will lead to something else, maybe not. You can't force these things.

Describing myself to strangers feels like writing a cover letter. Why is this taking so long?

Me = someone who can find a way to make any situation or boring winter night memorable. I keep a trunk full of "just in case" gear for times when a glow-in-the-dark frisbee might come in handy, a hula-hoop, baseball gloves, tennis rackets and any number of random props for those 'what do I do?!' nights. I'd like someone to have an adventure with. Could be you if you're up for it....

I'm just a little too old for the college kids and maybe not hip enough for the downtown hipster scene. I come from Olympia, WA where the running joke is 'it's not shocking to see a guy in his underwear doing kartwheels across the street.' I guess you could say being from where I'm from makes me down for anything - I'm super easy going - and definately spontaneous with the right people. I suppose I just want to find the right kind of person I can be 'me' with.

My one true love is to travel. I've roamed the world, or at least parts of it, and my only wish is to see as much of it as possible while I'm alive. SE Asia is at the moment my favorite region on earth. This region covers a lot of counties but there's something magical about the different cultures, traditions, food and generosity of that part of the world. I've lived in New Zealand and Australia at separate times in my adult life and although I love them dearly, I appreciate coming from Washington and the west coast more than ever.
What I’m doing with my life
I finally graduated! Woohoo!

When I'm not working I'm hanging out with friends, playing outside, catching a show, sipping on some brew or doing any one of the myriad of things that make me happy. i just moved to the area though, so my friend group is a little lacking...working on that
I’m really good at
Roaming the globe, soaking up sunshine, thinking up exciting and fun things to do, absorbing the beauty of nature, knocking out chicks on roller skates, remembering the lyrics to songs, hula-hooping, making you a mix tape =) dancing, anything that requires coordination, appreciating a glass of wine, beer, or whisky and lots more...
The first things people usually notice about me
Dimples. Apparently they're not that common and are also endearing. I also have a few birth marks on my face. They're little freckles but have interesting placement. I actually quite like them.

After the obvious physical stuff people notice I'm approachable, easy going, real ( I yam who I yam ), and a bit silly. So basically, everyone wants to be my friend.... hahaha. I'm not that into myself...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Tom Robbins, Chuck Palahniuk or Hunter S. Thompson. Some favorites include Stilll life with Woodpecker, Jitterbug Perfume, Another Roadside attraction, Survivor, The Great Shark Hunt...

I appreciate the classics as well as anything that strays from main stream writing. So basically anything with an original writing style or unusual theme.

Movies: too many. I'm a bit of a film snob...

Music: I find myself appreciating different music styles more and more as I get older. I listen to anything from Zeppelin to Sublime, Radiohead to The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon to Mother, Mother, and even a little Arcade Fire, Band of Horses, Pixies, Gaga, Death Cab, and electro when I'm in the mood. My memory for lyrics is a little on the ridiculous side and I tend to sing or rap along with basically anything that's been on the radio since the 60's. If you want me to bust out some Beastie Boys or Salt 'n Pepa for you, I will.

oooh, anyone want to see Alt-J on Dec. 15?
The six things I could never do without
1. Friends
2. Travel
3. Sunshine
4. Love (corny but true)
5. Music
6. Tasty libations (I could do without, but I wouldn't want to)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
....what other people find important. I'm a bit of a people watcher and sometimes I can't even begin to understand why people get mad, angry, or even happy about certain things.

Also, karaoke songs that I can never remember when I need to, ridiculous choreography (Bjork "It's Oh So Quiet" style - bonus points for knowing what that means) for pretty much every song I hear or fitting moment in my life, and what my next adventure will be....

Where are all the MEN in this town? I'm already over skinny jean wearing, ironic facial hair sporting, sociopaths. No, you really ARE NOT that interesting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually with friends. I rarely "hit the town" as they say because I get tired of drunken 21 year olds, drama, and raging testosterone. Usually I take it easy, have dinner and a glass of wine or beer with friends, or occasionally go dancing. I save the nights out for karaoke, dancing, or a concert when the mood is right.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
depends....ask and perhaps you will get a response...
