What I’m doing with my life
Kindness, thoughtfulness, peace and respect.. isn't that what life is about?I am a bit high energy and very active, but also love relaxing, kicking back at dinner, watching a movie and warm conversation.. I am generally happy and love sharing. I like biking, hiking, running, working out, skiing, and watching 12 year old son play hockey. ow how to laugh, and sometimes shed a tear or two at an emotional moment.I love a week at the beach relaxing, as much as a bike trip on the Island of Crete. I am actively involved in a successful and thriving business.I have two grown children as well as an 11 year old. I also find plenty of time to relax and play.I workout regularly and do a lot of spinning classes, when the weather is too cold to ride outside.. I think i am one of those many guys who have finally, after the age of 50, figured out how to make life work. I am not into organized religion, but i do have a spiritual perspective and try to go to a wed night Buddhist style meditation in Bethesda once a month or more if i can. I have learned that often it is better to do what your partner wants so she feels emotionally safe, rather than do what i want, even if i think my choice is better, if i can't through reasoning make my point of view accepted successful, loving relationship is something i am very committed to doing. That is what life is about
I’m really good at
thinking about things, life in depth.
Have you seen tree of life? Quite a movie. The theme is nature(survival of the fittest),and grace..(love ,forgiveness, kindness). The movie is set in the 50's,with a family .. to some extent ,but it gets into the origin of the universe. Many references to the Book of Job".
I think we all need to strive for grace, but we need the strength through nature to be in a position to seek grace. Not all dinosaurs like the one in the movie will show grace to that weaker dinosaur, so in life we need to be strong enough emotionally to manifest grace. none of us are pure grace(although the mom came close0, and even those who seek to win, rather than seek peace, usually have some degree of grace(like Brad Pitt)
For some of us it is more of a struggle to manifest grace than others, simply because that is how we are, through no fault of our own, as displayed by those kids in the movie.
The message of the movie... let us all strive for grace.. loving kindness and an open heart.
