My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Social justice minded. Critical thinker. Devoted mama. Kind. Aware. Real. Outdoorsy, but not a hiker, biker, runner sort. Somewhat sarcastic. Somewhat serious. And a lot of other we all are...

Into people who question what is and strive for what could be. ...I'd love to meet someone who can talk equity...someone who is passionate about issues of social justice...someone who challenges me and gets me thinking.

Looking for somethin' good with someone great... Someone genuinely nice, thoughtful and non-pretentious...someone who actively engages in critical thinking about privilege and oppression...someone who is body positive.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
-Working just enough to get by.
-Thinking and rethinking about stuff, especially the 'isms.
-Consciously parenting.
-Enjoying my grown-up/free time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
How about I really like:

Cooking, especially together, and when there's another grown-up to do this with. Thrift store shopping. Veggie gardening. Farmer's markets. Taco bus take-out and back-to-back episodes of Orphan Black. Long walks. Long talks, particularly with wine in hand.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People notice...I'm nice, I'm short, I wear glasses...I dunno...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Reads: I'm more of an article/news snippet reader than a book reader these days. Mostly I'm found checking out stuff on: parenting, race/racism, feminist stuff, issues of gender/transgender issues, body image/health at every size/body love.

Movies: I'm most into series shows like: Six Feet Under, Sons of Anarchy, United States of Tara, The Wire, Scandal, Orphan Black. Transparent was pretty awesome.

Music: indie/alt country, 60's/70's rock, strong women in rock, bluegrass, hip hop. Mostly seem to listen to NPR on the way to/from work these days... inspire me!

Food: Into the whole real food, grass fed beef, fermentation, sourdough, etc... And at the same time, I'm not at all a food snob. I have my ideals and all but I love a diner omelet and coffee or a dive bar for a cheap burger, fries and a watered down beer. Also, I'm super into enjoying food and not at all into the fat phobia that consumes our eat/drink up and enjoy I say!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-my daughter -connection -down time -hope, plans, possibility
-good grub/beer/wine -probably a lot of other random stuff too...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-How to nuture kindness, empathy, self-confidence, creativity, self-awareness (etc...) in my daughter. -Race, class, gender, and that sorta important stuff. -How I could quit my job and live off the land (which is an idea in stark contrast to the fact that I also love living in the city). -How to find more creativity, fun and joy in the day to day. -How to add something to the world around me, particularly by making a difference in the lifes of kids. -Whether or not lives or lifes is the correct word to use in the prior sentence...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Drinking wine and watching brainless t.v. and then snuggling up to my daughter in bed. Or drinking wine and watching brainless t.v. and snuggling up with myself in bed. Or drinking wine and brainlessly people watching and thinking about snuggling up with a cute, grown-up somebody in bed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I drive my grandma's car. When she passed, she gave it to my mom. When my mom passed, I inherited it. ...Which sounds like it could be cool, except it's not even vintage or anything...just a beat up, scratched up, dirty Kia. But I'm good with it ;)
