I am one of those stinking liberals, and I love and support our troops. I am a raging "offendamist." I have the crazy notion that being Christian, white, male, and heterosexual is not normal - it is just one of a million wonderful variations of what we can and might be. I believe Audre Lorde is right when she says that "the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house," that you get more flies with honey than with vinegar, that God is too big for one religion, and She has an excellent sense of humor (have you really looked at a platypus?). Yes, I said "She." I do not believe that women are necessarily better nurturers - biology does not determine capacity for love and giving. I believe that big girls and big boys DO cry. I cry when movies are happy. I cry when they are sad. I love to cry at movies, and even if I didn't love it, I simply can't help it. As far as I can tell, Clive Owen, Dane Cook, Ryan Reynolds, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are the sexiest men EVER. I love the theater, books, good food, and good wine. I love to dance, to laugh, and to play. I believe that, no matter how gorgeous you are, "pleather" pants are an abomination. I love my friends, my family, my dogs, and my cats. I love my house. I love to live. I love to be out in my community. I love all the ugly pieces of my past, and I think they fold in beautifully with all the wonderful and exciting pieces. I love thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. I love the ocean. I love the smell of my puppies' paws, of sunrise, and moss when the dew is still on it in the mornings. I love two hour naps, 90 minute massages, and pedicures. I love to read books. I love to debate, but I hate to fight. I love the idea of love, the awkwardness and uncertainty of a first kiss. I love the smell of babies sticky and warm from a day spent playing in the sun, and the way they feel resting on my shoulder when they finally fall asleep at the end of that day! I believe in the goodness of humanity and I have hope for the future.

Right now I am busy completing my masters degree in Sociology. I eventually want to complete my PhD, so that I can be a professor. I'd also like to write and be published...
