My Self-Summary
What I’m doing with my life
Outside of the Job: I am exploring...through books, through travel, through nature, and through discovering more about myself and the people around me.
I’m really good at
Now I haven't put anything physical on here so things that I like to do but I wouldn't say that I'm "great" at would include hiking, biking, horseback riding, traveling, and I went spelunking once and would love to again!
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Oh and yes I love the Lord of the Rings but I was also a sucker for the Twilight series.
My favorite book of all time though was not a Sci-fi book, it's about a boxer in south africa, called the Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. Stunning. I also love Pat Conroys Lords of Discipline and the Giver.
Enough about books, I love them but while I can loose myself for hours in them that's only one pf the pieces of me.
Movie favorites include Brave Heart, the Goonies, Star Trek, Ghost...I don't know my tastes are very broad from action to drama. I just don't like scary movies because I have literally ended up jumping up and landing on the floor. And then the movie doesn't leave me...like the creatures from the Descent made me scared of the dark for 3 days and the Ring (not considered scary by many) had me afraid of TV's for a day. When I say scared I mean spooked not deathly afraid, just on edge.
Music: I have a wide variety of likes here, electronica, folk music, some rap, some christian, A Capella is amazing, celtic/irish stuff rocks, a splash of country here and there, oh and I love alternative rock stuff, and the nineties. Don't forget some classic rock too. I judge each song and what I listen to depends on my mood and can affect my mood.
TV: This last year I have watched only a few things. Dexter on showtime is amazing (I don't have showtime this year if anyone has showtime and wants to have a Dexter watching party I'm all in!) I watch Greys Anatomy and Lost. Also I got hooked on America's Next Top Model...I know its shallow but its fun. I watch family guy ever once in a while as well.
Food: I love pasta, chicken, potatoes, steak, cheese, bread, fruit (apples, bannanas, pears, grapes, cherries), not many vegetables but I am trying to broaden my "healthy palate" (If you hide the vegetables I like them but please don't let me feel the onion go crunch). I dislike spicy food. And I will pick out things I don't like.
The six things I could never do without
my family (friends become family)
sleep
my internal struggle with belief and disbelief, faith and rationalism
intelligent conversation
humor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Knowing yourself (or trying to) and loving yourself (even if you're in transition) are important and necessary to answering that question.
