My self-summary
Memorial Day 2011: Just want to let anyone viewing this know that I am in a sweet relationship with someone I met on OK Cupid, so keep your hopes up and keep looking on the site!

Mature, spiritual, creative, loving and sexy. Looking for soul-deep connection.

I am passionate about life and relationships. I am looking for someone who wants to build a deep, transformative relationship. I believe in connecting with Divine energy in my love relationship. I am a powerful woman who will change your life! Are you interested in asking deep questions, looking at long-held patterns or beliefs, and making love the center of your life?
What I’m doing with my life
I am at a place in life where I am making significant choices about what I am willing and not willing to have in my life going forward. Choices about work, my love life, my vocation to motherhood, my career, where I want to live, and what is important to me.
I’m really good at
I am a very good cook! I enjoy stretching my talent in this way. Making and sharing food with the people I love, including myself, is very important to me. I think it's important to know the story and origins of the food we eat, and to use it to make connections.

I also am a very good writer and, yes, I do notice and make judgements based on grammar, spelling, punctuation and pronunciation. (And now I will be very embarrassed if I find any mistakes in my profile!)

I am very good at the things that make a space special: color, texture, the feel of a place. Do you know what Locus Genii is?
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. People really do! I don't know why, but I often get compliments on my smile from people on the street. I also often get told I look just like someone they know: a friend from high-school, a teacher, a coworker, etc. It even happened the other day when I visited a new yoga studio.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I just finished watching "The King's Speech," "Young Victoria," "The Proposal," "The Quick and the Dead" and the entire series of Firefly.

Finished reading all three "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" books and the Mistress of the Art of Death murder mysteries. I am working on "Women and Desire" and "You're Not What I Expected" by Polly Young-Eisendrath, and "Acedia and Me" by Kathleen Norris.

New music for me is from Keb' Mo', Gregg Allman, The Adagio Trio, Diana Krall and Erykah Badu.

My culinary roots are Italian and French. My culinary expression is diverse! Thai, New American, Armenian, Irish. I am a very good baker with a specialty in scones. I love learning about new foods and new wines.
The six things I could never do without
The important children in my life
My phone for all the connections in my life
A comfortable place to call home
My camera, and the experience of beauty in the world
Time for meditation, prayer, and yoga practice
My circle of friends and family, especially my best girlfriends!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I am going to answer this a little differently. I believe in phonics, global warming, evolution, that everyone should vote, contraception and reproductive rights, the power of prayer, and spiritual enlightenment. I am a Christian, although not a narrow one. I believe in Christian community, I have and do stake my life on it. I believe that time in nature and with children is good for your soul. I believe in working toward miracles. I believe in the power of a liberal arts education, asking for help, recycling and composting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out ballroom dancing, at a wine-tasting or home watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I fall in love with people first, not gender. I used to think everyone was like this. Then a theologian and scholar friend of mine loaned me a book about women and sexuality which had a whole chapter of academic studies about people like me. I learned that, for most people, especially in America, gender is essential to personhood. Not so for me! Please do not message me if you think being able to love a woman or a man means I am interested in a threesome or casual sex. Thanks.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 38–53
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You are committed to living a life of compassion and open-heartedness. You have a vocation to parenthood. You are willing to risk in relationship. Don't message me if you are uncommitted to a spiritual path (I don't care what is is, just have one!) or are unconcerned with social justice.
