What I’m doing with my life
I'm in grad school preparing to be an elementary school teacher, specifically in an urban context. I moved to Chicago in September after serving as a volunteer teacher in the Dominican Republic for two years. Livin' on the south side.....missing diversity, but otherwise enjoying it.
I’m really good at
learning languages, playing cards, talking with my hands, talking to kids and grandmas, laying in the sun, cooking Italian, dancing (well.....merengue/bachata/salsa), and running really slowly.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: currently, the beautiful forevers. and i'm really into kids' books, and it's okay, cause it's my job :)
Movies: Life is Beautiful, The Dark Knight, Selena, Jurassic Park (I'm not known for my taste in movies)
Music: bachata, merengue, salsa, R&B divas (think: Aretha Franklin) and boy bands (think: Boyz II Men)
Food: everything (really), but especially REAL Italian
The six things I could never do without
my family, the beach, pasta, bachata, merengue, and salsa.

religion, education, international development, tropical islands, summer, heat (there's a theme here haha), the next time I'm going to dance.
