My self-summary
I'm a smart lady with a good head on my shoulders. I'm not generally dramatic or high maintenance. I've been told I'm pretty clever and quite hilarious. But everything is relative, and I tend not to take myself too seriously unless the situation requires.

I did stand up comedy once. It went really well. I haven't done it since. I'm terrified I won't be so lucky next time.

I'm a world traveler. A knitter, a painter, a writer, a book reader, a bad/cheesy/inappropriate joke maker (though, I try to steer clear of humor that relies on belittling others, if you have to take someone else down to make a joke, then you're not actually funny.)

I tend to surround myself with intelligent and witty people.

I enjoy art, literature, writing, camping, hiking, languages, travel, comedy, and more!

I also enjoy video games and board games.

Also, if I've learned anything recently, it's that honest is never the wrong way to be.

I'm looking for a connection. Also in the market for high quality cuddles.

I'd like to meet someone who appreciates and values companionship and affection but doesn't absolutely need someone always around in order to be happy.
What I’m doing with my life
Climbing mountains and other adventures.
Getting back to the heart of things. Improving.
Working, a whole lot.

I'll be graduating in May with a degree in Modern Languages and Cultures: Spanish, with a concentration in French. And a Chinese studies Minor. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with it. The opportunities are endless. I'm pretty excited about it.

I have a passion for words. If you're a good writer that's always a plus for me. I didn't realize until recently that I can be attracted to the way in which people phrase things. Diction, syntax, vocabulary. But don't try too hard, it doesn't work that way.

In my spare time I like to knit, crochet, paint, build things, etc. The act of creating useful and/or aesthetically pleasing things is very satisfying. I'm lucky enough to be able to sell my stuff sometimes.

I've recently taken up woodcarving. I also make decorative bowls out of old vinyl records. And I've been struggling (and failing) to create a back-strap loom with which to weave. I took a class on how to use them when I was in Mexico a few years back and I've been trying to make my own ever since.
I’m really good at
Creating things: food, crafts, sentences, laughter
Understanding: languages, people, complex situations
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I have really awesome hair, and good skin.

Food! Tacos. Sandwiches. Chinese food in China. I'll try anything. I'm the least picky. I cook most of my own meals at home. I've been told I'm an excellent cook. I'm notorious for spending entirely too much money at the grocery store when I get excited about crafting some kind of high concept meal.
The six things I could never do without
Laughter, Creativity, Intelligence, Travel, Sunshine, Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The passage of time. And how quickly things can change. And where I'll be a year from now. And the way that each year seems shorter in contrast as your life gets longer.

The way that language is nothing but arbitrary symbols and sounds that, when combined in various ways, can have infinite meaning and power.

Raising alpacas. Shearing them, spinning yarn, and making awesome stuff. Repeat.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about practical life choices, and how they can lead me to full time, paid adventuring.

Trying to decide if I want to go to grad school.

Camping. I really want to go camping.
On a typical Friday night I am
I work a lot of mornings, so I tend to go to sleep a bit early. But depending on my schedule, I'm sometimes hanging out with pals, or watching Netflix, or playing video games.

Lately I've been mostly studying. Pretty much all of the time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know. I'm an open book. You can ask me most anything.
You should message me if
If you can produce complex sentences using relatively proper grammar and spelling.
If you don't take yourself too seriously.
If you have something substantial to say.
If you like to read.
If you have things that you are good at and passionate about.
If you stay at least moderately aware of current events and news, and you actually care about people who are not you.
If you understand the importance of empathy.
