My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm originally from NY, but I've lived in Austin for five years now! I couldn't be happier, and I don't really see myself ever really moving away from this city.

I'm a huge baseball fan, and I love going to games in Round Rock and Houston. Texas Stars hockey games are also super fun. Occasionally, I will join a softball, volleyball, or bowling league.

I'm into games of all kinds. Board games, pub trivia, video games. I haven't played board games in forever. I'd love to have a board game partner!

Politically, I'm pretty liberal, but that doesn't stop me from making terrible jokes.

I also have a collection of comic books, and I enjoy a good anime. If that's not what you're into, that's totally fine! It's something that I have no problem enjoying on my own, but if you are into it, I'd love to make some more friends who are into those types of things.

And of course, I have an amazing best friend named Dax, who used to be a stray on the mean streets of Bastrop. He's a totally sweet little Dachshund mix who loooooves people and is super friendly. He's basically my sidekick.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
It's summer vacation, so if I'm not playing Elder Scrolls Online, I'm probably either reading a book, working out, cleaning the house, or fixing up the yard.

When August rolls around again, I'll be back to being a geometry teacher at an alternative high school, which is a pretty sweet gig.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Just about god damn everything. It's a blessing and a curse. You wouldn't understand.

My specialties include making fun of anything, drawing sometimes, quoting Robocop (the original), math, and being taller than you. I've really got that last one nailed down.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall. If I'm sitting, probably my blue eyes. Maybe my fancy New York accent. I guess I'm not sure...

I've been told I pull off flip flops well and have good eyebrows. Not to brag or anything, but I'm just saying it's been said.

Or maybe my tattoos if I'm wearing shorts.

Besides X-Men comics? Tough one. I like lots of stuff. HP, His Dark Materials, Stephen King, blah blah. Just the other day, I finished reading Of Mice and Men. Now I need to get to Lord of the Flies and The Grapes of Wrath. I'm on a classics kick. I'm also on the second book of the Sin City series, by Frank Miller, which has just been simply amazing and fun to read so far.

Movies I can watch over and over without wanting to shoot my face off: The Scout, Major League, Old School, Hellboy, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Clifford (oh god, yes, Clifford), The Princess and the Frog. Nightwatch and Daywatch were damn awesome, too, but like Pan's Labyrinth, I can't watch them over and over because I have to read them. Bummer, foreign, non-dubbed films! Why do you have to be so good??? Speaking of foreign films, Oldboy was ridiculously fucked up and amazing.

Shows are limited for the most part to whatever's good on Netflix. Since finishing Bernie Mac, I haven't really found a new show to watch on there, but i want to get into Orange is the New Black. I've recently been on an anime kick, and that has included Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Dragonball Z - sorry, geek alert. I also like HIMYM, X-Files, Seinfeld, Friends, Trailer Park Boys, and Dexter before the end of the Lithgow season. I'm scarred for life. For real, I watched that like a year ago, and I'm still not over it.

Belle and Sebastian (that's god damn right, I started with Belle and Sebastian because I'm a man's man and that music is legit awesome), Pixies, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons, The Killers (pre Sawdust or whatever their shitty 3rd album was called), Pink Floyd, The Smiths (and solo Morrissey), The Cure, most classic rock, plenty of alternative, no country, not much rap.

Food - I'm open to trying new things, but I like most of what I've had. I enjoy a good Chinese buffet (South Park Meadows!). And I really like sushi now that I've finally tried it! I've also been cooking stir fry a lot lately, so it's like I've been making my own Chinese food! Delicious and healthy!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dax, the gym, sandals, the internet, terrible (hilarious) jokes, my friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I'm going to end up living in Australia. And now that someone pointed this out to me, why the fuck are the spiders there so terrifying???

When I'm going to get that equality tattoo...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At the gym and then just hanging out with Netflix and my dog. Occasionally, I'll go out to happy hour with coworkers or I might be at a friend's place drinking and stuff. Typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Most of my 20s were spent in two separate long term relationships, and this dating thing is tougher than I imagined.

Also, this isn't private, but it feels appropriate here. I hate my username. My friend signed me up, and she asked me to pick a username but not to worry about it because I could probably just change it later. THAT COSTS MONEY, AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN CAPITALIZE IT APPROPRIATELY. We're no longer friends (yes, we are).

I thought math was cool as a kid.

I still think math is cool.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You need help on your math homework. I might be good for most things up to calculus. Might.

You want to play Words with Friends. I'm admittedly not as awesome as I had previously thought. Plus, if you want to play, maybe that damn word coach will leave me alone.

You like anime and/or American cartoons, superheroes, comics, etc.

You have a good sense of humor and aren't easily offended. And you appreciate terrible jokes.

If you have a tattoos and like punk rock and are super sarcastic. I want friends like that.

You are nice and accepting and want to chat with me or meet up sometime to do something fun, even if it's just grabbing a drink and a bite to eat on a patio somewhere.
