My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Alter-ego: normal guy, good job, nice house, nice car, Nice guy. Laid back, good sense of humor, etc,

That is the me that most of the world knows.

The truth is a bit, um, less conventional.

I value close, meaningful relationships with people...not the standard "we can date, then get engaged, then have 2.3 kids, then retire, then die". Nothing wrong with any of these things, but the relationship with people is my goal, not the "things".

I know that may not be the typical "norm", but I'm truly looking to enjoy meaningful relationships with interesting, real people.

I have a really wide, deep range of knowledge, true nerd stuff. I know movie stuff, I geek out about particle physics and metaphysics, brane theory, crazy emo non-pc music, all kinds of randomness. I really, truly enjoy the little things. I also want to live to be many hundreds of years old, if only to see what the hell happens next in this world.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now, and for the last several years, it's been career stuff. I keep my son on the weekends, and almost all of my friends have either married off, or moved I ended up spending a lot of time working.

Career has taken off pretty well, it's time to integrate other people into my non-work life.Trying to change that; all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, right?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quoting movies, spouting off completely useless knowledge, and talking about cars. I can't lie, I love cars, have since I was 13. Oh, and Words With Friends.

Moving heavy things.

Not being offended by just about anything

Getting speeding tickets

Shaving my head

Enjoying non-crap beer

Trying to eat well, and not following through with it

Waiting too long to speak my mind

Cussing like a sailor, er, soldier....spent several years in the Army, not sure I'll ever speak without some saltiness
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
First impression: man, that guy looks like a bouncer

Second impression: hey, he's a lot nicer than I thought he would be.

Third impression: This guy know's too much s*** about too much s***

Maybe that's due to my shaved head? Guess I look the part of the dumb jock....Dunno

Books - I used to read all the time, but it's been a long time since I've sat down with a book. I do keep up with the news and current events, though. My typical morning is a cup of coffee and an hour or so browsing yahoo news.

Music - Varied interests - NIN, Tool, HTDA, Type O Negative, Nick Drake, Faith No More, Genesis, HEALTH, Daft Punk, Puscifer, System of a Down, old Metallica, lots of '80s stuff, and lots of classical. I'm really not a big fan of country (Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson excluded), and most pop and R&B.

Movies - honestly, it's kind of embarrasing. I can usually quote something from most movies (excluding a lot of chick flicks). I'm very good at six degrees of Kevin Bacon. I'm secretly ecstatic that I have a 15yo son...I can go see any cheesy action or sci-fi movie, and blame it on him.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Six things....

My son
road trips
Um....hell, I dunno, air conditioning? - I'm hot natured.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The fact that on a long enough time scale, literally everything that can happen, will happen.

Altered states of is one perception more valid than another?

Why people have a tendency to reinforce my tendency not to trust it me?

How life has turned out, how it has not gone as I'd expected as a younger man, and how I'd not have it any other way.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for others to corrupt / others to corrupt me. Driving. Stressing over work stuff. Ok, so there's no typical Friday night. Potentially enjoying a nice beer or a good bourbon somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I had a mini-mullet and a mustache in high school. I also drove a Fiero with t-tops. Hey, it was 1989...what can I say?

You're a present a certain face to the world, but maintain a cool alter-ego behind closed doors. I.E., you have a secret identity and an underground lair. Or, if you're just a decently cool person who wants to chat about whatever. That works, too.

You've read through this, and you haven't uttered the words "eww" or "gross" or "WTF"....if you got through this and said, "hmmm"....step right up.
