My self-summary Propose an edit

Hello!

My name is Nick. I would like to point out that you don't know me. Even after reading this profile or reading statistics, you really don't know me. My biggest issue with this site is the fact I can't convey who I am on here alone... you will be reading all day long. Everything mentioned on this profile is what is going on NOW, or a little outdated. Please, if you are slightly interested and meet my "You should message me if" section. Please, say hi, and start a conversation.

Now, about me:

I like art, odd music (mostly rock), watching live performances (comedians/improv, musicians, etc), garnering information from the internet, web shows, hiking, getting back into running, camping, my cat Iori, my family, video games, and discussing just about everything under the sun.

I am a pantheist, a realist, and extremely open-minded towards everyone and everything. And when I say open-minded I mean it unlike a lot of people who say it... I would have to be or else I would be a huge hypocrite.

I am an easy going, if not a shy guy until you get to know me. I am often an advice giver to most of my friends. I seem to help way more people then people are willing to help me out. I am introspective and have a very deep understanding of who I am. I am also both non-photogenic and don't have many pictures of myself; I am usually the photographer and refuse to take pics of myself.

I am also bisexual, but not interested in dealing with the guys on this site anymore. As for what I mean about being bisexual, I am interested more in WHO I am with, not what they are. What is most important to me in a relationship is honesty, being able to remain individuals, being equal, and being able to work as a team.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

At the age of 21 I got offered the job I wanted to get my entire life, but chose another job that actually proved to be just as satisfying, if not still a bit crazy. At 24 I reached my financial comfort level and a status within the company that can provide lots of job security. I like to push myself hard and I do work the average 8-5 weekdays, which means I can't stay up until the odd hours of the night on weekday nights, hence I have issues keeping up with other people my age, which is why I am on this site.

I am not a fan of the usual sexual-handshake style relationship where you meet someone drunk at a bar and try to see how things end (here is a hint: badly). I have never been a fan of bars and clubs, although don't mind going, just not at the crack of dawn. I am looking for something fun but with a substantial foundation of honest with someone.

I have a fairly large family and, yes, we get along just fine. End up hanging out with them every now and again... I am the only person crazy enough to take my Dad to a NIN concert.

Other then that, my social life is played by ear, and I end up all over the place in an attempt to meet new people... that is basically what is going on right now.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Mostly the skills associated with my job:

* Digital art
* Programming
* Presenting abstract concepts
* Listening to random crazy music (this one might need explaining sometime)

Other things I am good at:

* Listening
* Giving sound advice
* Being the voice of reason

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

From what they have said initially to me from meeting me:

That I am very approachable and easy going although I can sometimes come across as a shy guy. But I warm up pretty quickly. Although some people are extremely opinionated towards me, more so then other people. I can't figure that out, but it only happens when people just assume I am someone I am not and hate me before I even get a chance to say a word.

"Oh, you are cuter then your pictures", is a pretty common one. I guess a lot of people seem to get the wrong impression about me right away. Not sure if it is because I seem very plain in appearance or not.

Either way, a lot of people have very different first impressions of me maybe because most people are a bit suspicious of people who are straightforward or honest. And I can't really stand people who claim that they are too "real" or speak their "mind"... usually these people only talk without thinking about what they are about to say. It doesn't really get my attention, in-fact I tend to just stop talking to those people altogether.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

All depends. My brain switches modes throughout the day. There is relaxed mode where I tend to contemplate matters of randomness or self improvement. Work mode where I am trying to be creative as well as productive towards a set goal. "Driven" mode: I have a task and it must get done. And many others, but I can't say I am always thinking about the same things.

I spend a lot of time coming up with new ideas, politics, philosophy, other people, reflecting on my life, taking in my environment, or curiosities.

I can typically come up with things on the spot pretty easily without serious forethought.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

I have no "typical" Friday night. If my week was busy I might be home or drive all over the place even out of state to see friends. Around town I am either hitting bars early, seeing bands play, walking around downtown, or hanging out with long time friends (rare). I would love to meet someone or people who would love to see the art galleries in town and/or get some great dinner at a local restaurant, no commitment for it being a date, I just have no one to do that with.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

Get to know me and I will basically tell you everything. I believe honesty is the best policy one can go by. Unfortunately society seems to believe otherwise.

You should message me if Propose an edit

PLEASE NOTE GUYS: I AM GOING TO BE FAR MORE CRITICAL OF MEN COMPARED TO WOMEN ON THIS SITE. RECENT ISSUES HAVE LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD FOCUS ON WOMEN MORE THEN MEN. Meaning: I will still chat with you, but getting me to go on a date will require actual serious interest and compatibility, beyond what I normally require before meeting.

Not being a bigot in any way is kind of mandatory. Not big on people who hate others, that negativity isn't welcomed.

Please if you are intelligent, strong willed, and not an alcoholic or bipolar, and live within a geographical location that is realistic, then I think it is worth a shot. Even if you don't live that close you can shoot me a line for someone to chat with, but I might not get to you.

Health conscious is a big plus as well, but I am not a vegan or a vegetarian, although sort of used to being around people who are.
