My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in a small town in northeast Nebraska. My family moved here to Amherst another small town when I was 13. I spent nine years traveling the world as a field service engineer in the water treatment industry. I am a university educated small town Midwestern guy with just enough culture to not be a total hick.
I enjoy most outdoor activities: fishing, skiing (water & snow), swimming, scuba diving, biking, motorcycling, heck even helping someone cut wood or work on a building project can be a good day if the weather is nice. Living in Wisconsin, some days I am on couch watching movies or a good series on Netfix when it’s 34 degrees and raining.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Up until three years ago I had a job that required me to travel about 27 days out of 30. I enjoyed the work and the pay was pretty good, but I had no social life. I spent time in many different parts of the country, Canada and Mexico.
I don't really go out to the bars much. Most of my friends are married with children, they don't get out much. I spend a lot of time hanging out with my family. My parents, bother and sister live in the area. I have 7 nieces and nephews between the two siblings.
I have a good job in sales. I work in the municipal water and waste water industry. Some days I come home smelling quite terrible. Mike Rowe has brought a little respect to those of us who have "Dirty Jobs" but be prepared for the occasional bad day. When I have to get undressed in the garage and put my clothes directly into the wash. ;-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can: rebuild a car engine, build a house (I built the one I am in now), fix just about anything mechanical, (have to replace the DVD drive in my sister's Xbox cause her 14 month old broke it((update: the Xbox repair was a success))) commission a water plant (that’s what I did for a living until July of 2011), cook a decent meal, sit silently for hours watching a sunset or sunrise, race a stock car, personal finance, fishing, procrastinate and I am sure there are more but I will get to those later.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know, I don't ask so people don't tell me. This is not something guys spend much time thinking about.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Action, horror, mysteries, a good Sci-Fi book once and a while. Some of the authors I like are: Steven King, Steven Hunter, Dale Brown, Tom Clancy, John Stanford, J.A. Jance, Walter Mosley, Andrew Vachss, and Harlan Coben. I just read the complete song of Ice and Fire series through dance of dragons.

My taste in movies is typical male: action and comedies; if it has things blowing up or a car chase in it I will probably watch it. Any of the Marvel movies, The A-team, Zombieland, Fast and Furious franchise (even with all the technical errors) Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Payback, anything by Quentin Tarantino, Clint Eastwood (actor or director), Kevin Smith movies and much more.

I do not have cable, so most TV shows I buy the DVDs. The Walking Dead, Archer, Game of Thrones, South Park, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Deadwood. When I go to the Gym it is usually Top Gear- the British version.

I will listen to anything but hard core rap, thrash metal and show tunes. I am a fan of: Kid Rock, Eric Church, Garbage, Three Dog Night, G&R, Dwight Yoakam, Save Ferris, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, AC/DC. I think it is sad that Amy Winehouse is gone and Niki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Bieber are still making crap.

I like most food, it depends on how well it is made more than what type it is. Well made Thai food is probably my favorite followed by fresh seafood. You should be able to see or smell the ocean from the restaurant; the exception is Baton Rouge. Seriously do not spend a week in Baton Rouge unless you want to gain 10 pounds. :-)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family
2. Friends
3. Work. (It gives a man purpose)
4. Motorcycles (Four wheels move the body, Two wheels move the soul)
5. Shelby
6 oxygen, water, food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Work. Sad, but true my career is fairly demanding and when I am not at work I still think about it.
Recently I think about selling the house and toys.... buying a 38' sail boat and disappearing into the south pacific. What fantasy helps you get though a bad day?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Saving the world from evil, tipping cows or throwing stuff off the bridge..... When they let me out of the institution. ;-)

Seriously, I don't go out to much, so it is pretty boring around here. I rent a movie or during the summer I am at the race track. Lately I have been going to the gym on Friday nights because it is usually empty.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Ventriloquist dummies give me the creeps. It’s not a full blown phobia, they are just unsettling. Like finger nails on a chalk board. I can’t stand Jeff Dunham for making them popular again.

Well this is a dating site, so.....
I have probably sent you a message first, that is how it usually works right? The guy sends some dorky first message then you check him out and if you are interested or a just polite, you send a message back. You could be really wild and say hello first.
