I am intellectual, earthy, and frequently amused.

My Self-Summary

I have experience as a restaurant manager. I'm semi-bilingual (I can speak Spanish in most situations), and I'm looking for a new career opportunity. I like skiing, cooking, rock climbing, fishing, theater, the arts, and a massive variety of music. For now, I'm really in a pretty chill mode. New friends and people to hang with are my priority at the moment.

What I’m doing with my life

I has a new gig! And the hours are significantly better than my last job, so I actually can predict my free time!

I just bought a house a couple of months ago, and I'm spending a lot of time tinkering with it. This will probably continue for the foreseeable future.

You know, I'd be interested in checking out some sort of movement based study. Martial arts, dance, or self defense (again.) Must investigate this further.

I’m really good at

Teaching others, cooking, being supportive, being a smart-ass when needed, skiing, falling off rock walls, manager-ing, laughing at myself, and massages.

Hablo espanol y quiero aprender mucho mas.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm initially shy and kinda reserved except at work. I think most people notice pretty quickly that I don't like to take myself seriously for too long. I'm also short.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite books (A partial list): Greek and Roman Mythology, Guns Germs and Steel, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, the plays of Shakespeare, Harry Potter, The Iliad and The Odyssey, World War Z, Dante's Divine Comedy, Kitchen Confidential and The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain, I'm Just Here for the Food by Alton Brown, and others.

I'm also interested in the poetry of Octavio Paz and Rainier Maria Rilke.

Movies (A definitely incomplete list): Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish, Boondock Saints, 21 Grams, Fight Club, Lord of the Rings, Alien, Chocolat, Pan's Labyrinth, The Orpanage, Pulp Fiction, Ice Age I and II, Finding Nemo, Love Actually, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, and more.

The six things I could never do without

Oxygen. Water. Food. Massages. Freedom of expression. Challenges.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People who are important to me, language, work stuff, music, finding/growing/cooking/enjoying food, and working on my house.

On a typical Friday night I am

Used to be working, but now I seem to be afflicted with semi-free evenings. Hence the profile.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I can wiggle my ears. No, that's not a metaphor.

You should message me if

You found this profile amusing/provocative/charming/etc... You'd like me to elaborate on any topic. You're a foodie, or at least adventurous...
