What can I say? I'm a California boy through and through and it's going to be hard to drag me away from the bay area. Whether it's a night out in the city, a weekend run to Tahoe, a day trip to Napa or a hike in the Marin headlands there's just too much to love in this great state of ours. I consider myself active and try to live healthy (working out, playing soccer, eating those things I should probably eat more of) but don't consider myself a gym rat or diet freak. I love getting out but definitely enjoy recharging my batteries in solitude when necessary. It's the introverted side of me that pushes my extrovert out of the way every now and then. I'd love to meet someone who compliments me but pushes me in new ways. Things I'd love to do more: volunteering, read, see live shows. I'm not a sport nut but I'm pretty close to it. Bill Simmons, PTI, the 49ers, Warriors and A's have a special place in my life :) I'm a positive person and you should be too. Nothing is less attractive than a negative attitude. Sarcasm and wit will serve you well with me.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been working in a family owned promotional marketing company my sister started about 20 years ago, for the last 10 years. It's awesome but every 6 months I flip flop on if I should move on or not. So far I'm holding strong!
I’m really good at
Bowling. Like sneaky good even though I only go about twice a year. :) Oh and cornhole. Only the coolest park game on earth. Don't know what that is? Great, we'll take my set out sometime and play. Just don't count on beating me anytime soon :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My freaky long eyelashes and soft hair. I also have pretty broad
shoulders. They make me look like I'm way more in shape than I
actually am at times. I'm definitely not complaining.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Newest love: Mr. Robot - AMAZING. Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Modern Family, PTI, The Office, Parks and Rec all make the dvr rotation. All time favorite books: Of Mice and Men, Harry Potter, Brules (hard to find but just fantastic), Tim Ferris books. Movies: American Beauty, The Pianist, Shawshank Redemption, Rocky I-IV, LOTR, Forrest Gump, Finding Nemo. Music: I love a good live show but am pretty dang illiterate when it comes to bands. I'll listen to pretty much anything but particularly love powerful vocals (Adele, Whitney Houston), well done high production value songs (Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry), classic alternative (Nirvana, Green Day, etc...) and most recently I've found a love for EDM, hard to beat a good beat🎶. My guilty pleasure in the past has been American Idol, shhh... Favorite foods: Pizza and I will have a bond for life although I try to limit myself to only a few times a month. I try to eat paleoish during the week. I'm not much of a dessert guy but have a hard time turning down a hot chocolate chip cookie. I absolutely love a chilled microbrew but have no problems drinking a PBR when the time is right, not even for the irony of it.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, family, sports (both watching and playing), the city of
San Francisco, tolerance, positive people.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, nerd style. Did you know NASA is seriously working on a
warp drive that will take us to the next star system in a matter of
weeks? How can you not be attracted to me after dropping that kind
of knowledge on you? You might as well stop reading and message me
now. Oh, did I mention I have a bit of a nerdy side? In another
life I definitely have a chemistry major instead of business.
On a typical Friday night I am
Browsing okcupid. Ha, just kidding. I'm out with friends. Whether
it's dinner and a fun game night, maybe a bar or two or catching up
at happy hour with a friend I haven't seen in a while. I'm
definitely not opposed to the occasional movie night, staying in or
going out. A bottle of red wine and a lighted fire place are mighty
fine on a rainy night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a board game nerd in training. Settlers of Catan opened the way
for me. I'll usually organize a game night with close friends about
once a month.
You should message me if
You've made it this far and you're still reading. You'll only get your gold star now if you message me. Oh! And I think this article is the best article I've read on relationships... http://waitbutwhy.com/2014/02/pick-life-partner-part-2.html
(There are some amazing articles besides this one as well. If this is the type of blog you could get lost on reading for hours, you should definitely message me!)
