I am complex, geeky, and insightful.

My Self-Summary

I'm a computer geek and artist, a Mac guy who loves to mess around with pictures, video, and audio. I also work in more traditional media like ceramics and paint. I like to hang out with my friends and play some video games and I watch too many movies for my own good.

I play guitar and bassoon and saxophone though I'm fairly out of practice with all of them.

I was a digital art major at BGSU until I changed my major to computer science. The two fields are closely related and I found that I enjoyed programming more than I enjoyed art classes. I will, however, continue focus on interactive media, the Internet and gaming.

I'm getting more and more into writing applications for the Mac and the iPhone. I'm hoping to have the beginnings of an iPhone app done by the end of the year. So, maybe I won't be focusing on the art side of things as much as I had previously thought.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a student and I'm trying to figure out what I really want to do. I'm thinking about becoming a freelance web designer/general digital artist, or maybe becoming a Mac developer. But, that's still a year or so in the future, it seemed much father away the other day...

I'm graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science in December and starting work on my M.S. in Computer Science, still at BGSU, in January.

I just moved into a new apartment where I'm living by myself. It's really nice not having to deal with roommate drama/problems anymore. I also work for the university on the School of Art website and in the hardware support department of ITS doing computer repairs.

I’m really good at

Well, people tend to like much of my artwork, so I guess I'm pretty good at that. I'm a decent writer when I actually sit down and write. And, I like to think I take good photos.

Oh, I'm apparently a pretty good programmer, or so my CS grades would indicate.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm not really sure. Some people are often put off by my "intimidating" appearance. I don't consider myself to be all that intimidating and my friends would probably agree. I'm most often described by my good friends as a teddy bear. So, I'm pretty sure I'm not really intimidating.

Others might notice my piercings, I suppose. Sometimes I'd like to think that my eyes are noticeable; I think they're my best feature. What did you notice first about me?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: American Gods (and pretty much all the other Niel Gaiman novels), Fight Club, 300, House of Leaves, Ishmael, Harry Potter series, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, Good Omens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Ishmael, and far too many others to mention.

Graphic Novels: Superman: Birthright, Kingdom Come, 1602, Justice League: The New Frontier (Vol. 1 & 2), The Sin City series, Maus: A Survivor's Tale (Vol. I & II), Blankets, and I enjoy many others which do not come to mind at this moment.

Movies: The Matrix, Boondock Saints, Garden State, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (seriously, it is the best of the trilogy), Snatch, Sin City, any Tarrantino film, Waking Life, What the Bleep Do We Know!?, anything from Pixar or Studio Ghibli (it is Miyazaki after all), and who doesn't love a Kevin Smith film?, and many more!

Music: Flogging Molly, The Raconteurs, The Roots, Gnarls Barkley, The Shins, Snow Patrol, The Beatles, Gorillaz, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Wolfmother, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Les Claypool, Led Zepplin, Bright Eyes, and a whole lot more.

If you want to see more of what I enjoy, check out my library: http://hompage.mac.com/lrdntwnd/deliciouslibrary (and ignore the textbooks, I just like to keep track of them)

Food: pizza, southwest smothered chicken (made at home by yours truly), Orange Chicken, pasta of any kind...

The six things I could never do without

are my friends, my camera, my MacBook Pro, my music, my guitar, and the Internet.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life, the universe, and everything and where I fit into all that and what it all really means and even if it really exists at all and usually having some sort of existential crisis. It's tons of fun, I assure you.

On a typical Friday night I am

more often than not, hanging out with my friends; watching a movie, playing poker, playing video games, going out to the bars, etc. But, there really isn't a "typical" Friday night for me. Sometimes, I'm working on the website fixing some critical problem or I might just be chillin' at home reading a book or playing a video game (more often than not, it's one of the Zelda games, however, Halo 3 has been sneaking in recently).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

It really makes me sad when people view my profile and never say anything.

You should message me if

you find me interesting or at least think we might have some interesting/enjoyable conversations. I'm a pretty laid-back guy and I'm willing to talk about nearly anything.
