My self-summary
I can be stubborn and sarcastic, but I'm also genuine, honest, and loyal to a fault. I am very laid-back and very much a "type B" personality which sometimes gets me in trouble.

I tend to get myself into situations where afterwards people say "ohhh Lindsay!" (my name is Lindsay by the way--if it weren't, that'd be weird). On the one hand, I'm not quite sure what to make of that fact that people are always saying that to me, on the other, I completely understand why they say it. I guess you could say my life is both full of adventures and misadventures.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently doing biomedical research (absolutely love my job) and am applying to med school in June. I have spent varying amounts of time in various countries in Latin America and hope to incorporate that interest into my career. In a perfect world, I'd probably be a photojournalist traveling with my significant other, a writer.

I enjoy science, playing field hockey, taking pictures, reading, and listening to (live) music. I recently started taking violin lessons.

What I would also like to be doing: learning how to salsa and traveling.
I’m really good at
parallel parking
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Road, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, No god but God, The Life You Can Save, The Madonnas of Echo Park, Devil's Highway.

A recent favorite was This is How you Lose Her (Junot Diaz is my favorite author) and I am somewhat convinced that he and I do laundry at the same laundromat. I try to work up the nerve to ask him, but mostly I just stare and wonder. Whoever the guy is definitely thinks I'm a creep.

Music:

In general I like folk, alternative, and dare I say "indie" music, but I like to throw in a little classical and rap for good measure. Music is very important in my life and sharing it is the basis of many of my friendships. I love to go see live shows and festivals when I can afford them.
Favorites: The National, The Low Anthem, Bon Iver, Josh Ritter, Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Tom Waits, Florence and the Machine, Lissie, The Tallest Man on Earth, The XX, The Swell Season, Local Natives, anything Chris Thile does (aside from Nickel Creek).

I have major respect for Justin Bieber and anyone who disagrees needs to watch the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never on Netflix.

Food:

Indian, Vietnamese, spaghetti, a glass of wine or a good beer.
The six things I could never do without
Good company
My cat (orange tabby, Huey)
Contacts/glasses...I'm blind
Good music
The ability to go (via my feet, a bike, a car, or a train) I don't like to feel stuck.
Cereal
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I want to do with my life and finding something meaningful, fulfilling, and positive.

Also, physics, chemistry, biology, the MCAT, and microbubbles.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends or in with friends.

I'd say my favorite Friday night would just be hanging out with a bunch of people as opposed to going to a bar or club, but I enjoy those as well.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I read (and comment on) Yahoo news articles.
