My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been a loner most of my life and while I do occasionally feel the pangs of loneliness, I'm also quite happy living as I do. That said, I would also like to find a person, or persons with which to share my life in a more intimate manner than my friends [while I've generally been monogamous historically, I'm very open to polyamory].

I'm a musician first & that is the primary reason I'm a loner - any partner(s) will always vie for my attention wrt to music. But I'm also a very caring being, a great listener & soundboard and a great supporter of those with whom I'm emotionally involved. I just need my music time respected because I play shows, write songs and record every week.

I'm an intellectual, anarchist, feminist, radical egalitarian who is very engaged in the political arena. I read, I write, I march, I give what meager funds I can to organizations I support. I slack a bit on the local agriculture front because Saturday mornings [and hence farmer's markets] don't exist for me, but I do the best I can as a nocturnal urban dweller.

I make a point of hanging out with friends, having fun, dancing, drinking, etc. as much as I can & travel as much as I can afford to, because life isn't worth living if you're not sharing fun and experiencing new people and places.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a musician by night and a freelance accountant by day. I'd like to see the latter cease at some point, but the music biz ain't easy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
pretty much anything I put my mind to.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
All I know is that it seems everyone asks me for directions... So I must look like a geographer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Faulkner, Rushdie, Roy, Irigaray, Nietzsche, Yeats, Kant, Hegel, Stevens, Marx, Aristotle, Aeschylus, Shakespeare... and countless others.

Movies: Chinatown, The Constant Gardner, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pixote, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Star Wars [all of them], Event Horizon, The Big Lebowski, Milk... Also a huge Trekkie.

I love all music except the stuff that masquerades as pop music for the last two decades [with some decidedly guilty pleasures exempted]. Favorites would include Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, King Crimson, Patti Smith, Dr. John, Nick Drake, Levon Helm, Steve Earle, Bert Jansch, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Pink Floyd, My Bloody Valentine, Bill Frisell, Iron & Wine, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, and Bartok.

I'm a big foodie - French is my fave, but if it's well prepared, I'm happy - especially if it is organically and locally grown..
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, a guitar, spirits, good food, the internet and a functioning brain.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Just about everything, but the main focus is usually some combination of politics, philosophy, science, art, history and the decay of the planet due to factory farming.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, at a show, working on a new tune...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have an armpit hair fetish.
