I am genuine, thought-full, and (way too)utilitarian.
My Self-Summary
I enjoy
meeting new people,
making new
friends (and lovers!),
going out or staying in, trying new
things, and generally making a fool of myself. Are those incredibly
generalized and not at all descriptive? Yes, but there's a hell of
a lot I'm not willing to put online.
I grew up in Wyoming, lived in Arizona for a while, and now I'm out
on the East Coast figuring out what the hell to do with the rest of
my life. I have a fascination with Eastern Europe/Central Asia,
martial arts, biological and environmental sciences, and several
things nerdy (sci-fi readers take note!). I'm also a compulsive
volunteer/do-gooder according to my friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now - Recent(ish) graduate working for the man.
Next - probably grad school. Or becoming a world-traveling bum for
a while. Options are open.
My background - The
non-profit and public services
sector, though next up may be the business sector. My thesis was on
international trade across the US-Mexico border. I think I've had a
very well-rounded, if unconventional, educational and professional
career.
I’m really good at
the
violin,
poetry,
cross country
skiing,
backpacking, writing volunteer
manuals (don't ask), conversation. I wish I was better at (and I'm
working on it)
rock climbing,
kayaking,
backpacking,
dancing,
snowboarding, and
jiu jitsu.
The first things people usually notice about me
are my hazel eyes and my smile. That and possibly my rack.

The six things I could never do without
Friends
Family
A good book or three
Unfortunately the Internet (if only to be back in Africa where I
didn't have it)
Some kind of outdoors
I spend a lot of time thinking about
myself, my friends, my family, my future, the big questions I
shouldn't waste so much time on (like the meaning of life) - hence
the "thought-full" description.
On a typical Friday night I am
going out or staying in, having a drink or two, going to a concert,
whatever comes up really. . .
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
My number one pet peeve is the sound of someone eating when there
is no music, no conversation, and nothing else to cover the noise.
You should message me if
you're in the DC area and looking for a friend, just someone to
date, or maybe something more.
