My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Single, sarcastic cook with a degree in filmmaking, which means I work as a cook. Been in Seattle for 7 years after growing up in Houston and living in Minneapolis for 12 years.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The past 3 years I've been dealing with having my father starting to age rapidly and handle his financial affairs & keeping him interactive with family members with him living in TX and me here. Took 9 months to set up a support system for him in TX, which allows me to spend my Friday morning handling most of his stuff with a couple hours of phone calls and several mailed off letters.
Going through a parent's decisions & seeing the mistakes they made that are still being fixed 20 years later, makes me re-examine a lot of decisions: Currently trying to free myself of a lot of possessions that I no longer feel are worth keeping - Having a large book & dvd collection is cool - but it doesn't need to take up most of the space in my apartment.
In the last 8 months, I've "cured' myself of a 13 can a day soda habit and have been eating healthier. 1 year of no McDonald's is leading me to say good-bye to all fast food by 40 (Dicks's is still the best place at 2am). Trying to conquer my habit of working out in 4 months bursts then stopping. Need to make it 6 months and I should be on the road to a healthier life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Refusing to pay for parking (I grew up in TX, there's no point to pay for parking anywhere in this Country)
Explaining 49 year history of Dr Who (1st I can describe the storyline, then I can give you a break down of behind the scene roles)
sitting in front of a computer with a pile of photos & some home movies, and 10 hours later I've created an emotionally moving tribute video to someone who's not really that great of a person
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: Went to film school, at the start of the digital revolution, which lead to a love affair with the DVD. The collection is somewhere around 2,000+ (haven't counted in a while).
Favorite films: English Patient, Waterlands, Damaged, Reversal of Fortune

Books: Loved Stephen King for 20 years, just haven't had the strength to read any of his latest in 5 years. Have been reading a lot of non-fiction, History of politics books. In 5 years haven't found anything as good as Team of Rivals. Update: I got a Kindle - this thing kicks ass. I've finished books faster then ever before. Working on organizing a library of what I haven't read & loading it up.

Music: Tuned out music about 8 years ago. (In August I knowingly listened to Coldplay for the first time). My 160gb Ipod is loaded with the Doors, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Lennon, Tom Petty, & Zeppelin.
TV: Dr Who (classic & New, it's the same show), Walking Dead (it didn't follow the path of Heroes & start to suck), Breaking Bad (find myself agreeing with Mr White too much), Mad Men
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Internet, Ipod, Macbook, Sense of Direction, sex, The Magical Computer Elves that put movies & TV on my computer while I sleep
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
That I haven't been to gym enough. I have the best gym membership deal - and I go in bursts here & there. Need to regain focus and get back to 5 day a week schedule I was doing a year ago.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Most likely at the latest released movie or just as easily pulling out 1 of the 500 dvds I own but haven't watched. Always up for going out & breaking the routine, just need suggestions
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Falling asleep to answering questions on OKCupid is an alternative once Tetris has gotten boring

You are fun, bold, up front woman, who is looking for someone new to hang out with to see where things go. An appreciation of cynicism & talking with hands are necessary
