My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
i am healthy, fit, trim, articulate and like chocolate.
i crochet & knit hats for my business. i love books. i read every day . the public library is my favorite institution.

"outside of a dog, books are my very best friends. inside of a dog, it's too dark to read"
-----groucho marx

i paint in acrylics, & oils...watercolors when i'm on the fly...and draw cartoons, which are, to the chagrin of most, based on punning & wordplay.

i have never used the acronym LOL. ever.

i have red lipstick & a swiss army knife on my person at all times

i subscribe to the atlantic ; harpers, the new yorker, the nation, & i just got a kindle...but prefer books..

i like the theater--straight plays, musical theater too -, NPR & the BBC, .fine art ; looking at good architecture , so many kinds of music, but mostly JAZZ !!! i like my 2 very friendly, UNscratchy and not at all mean cats Buster & Winkle, driving to a new undiscovered location and then eating dinner there.

i was born and raised in NYC; central park was my front yard. if i had to be exiled somewhere, it would be the UWS.

I studied ballet for 12 years. I was in the Nutcracker when I was 11. the real one. Balanchine was directing us then. memorable.

i spend a fair amount of time in Columbia county, and like to drive into Vermont, a state that appeals on so many levels: political, environmental, aesthetical [is that a word?], and the people are so nice....

i was a tom-boy in my youth and admit to that proclivity now...even as i know how to wear a skirt.

i was lucky to have lived in paris for 2 yrs.... i learned the language, and most importantly it taught me how to be humbled by and flooded with respect for a culture that's not my own. they have excellent jazz clubs, too

caveats: if you don't like to sit with a good book several afternoons or evenings a week, if you are a conservative right winger, if you don't like a stroll thru MoMA or the Met, or if you only want to SIT staring into a Device! or if you sneeze after meeting les chats, Buster & Winkle.....well then....let''s not waste our hard-earned spare time [actually TOO much time] carved out for this rather strange way to meet people.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
knit & crochet..i do free-lance publicity for jazz musicians, actors, visual artists, mostly for first and second orbit friends & their friends...........trying to read more poetry, as i think it will use a part of my brain that has heretofore resisted such endeavors
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
trying to finish this uncomfortable task as fast as i can.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
oh come on
i guess that'd depend on what direction you're coming from.
