i crochet & knit hats for my business. i love books. i read every day and usually have 3 going at once; the public library is my very best friend.
i paint in acrylics, & oils, watercolors when i'm on the fly...draw when/wherever... and cartoon.
i subscribe to the atlantic ; harper's, the new yorker, esopus, provincetown arts, the nation, the NY Review of books, the [new!] new republic, the nation [on line]
i like the theater, fine art ; looking at good architecture , jazz, classical music [Chopin is #1], tons of other musical genres too many to mention here...my 2 very friendly, UNscratchy and not at all mean cats Buster & Winkle, my 2 incredible kids, driving to a new undiscovered location and then eating dinner there.
i was born and raised in NYC; central park was my front yard... and am proud of that... i KNOW that the obscene rents and vanishing middle class values will never take away the heroic , even innocent NYC i knew and still love...i spend a fair amount of time in Columbia county..
i guess i'd admit to being a semi-lapsed-jewish-buddhist-pantheist-semiatheist-hedonist-humanist.
i was lucky to have lived in paris for 2 yrs.... i learned the language AND most importantly it taught me how to be humbled by and flooded w. respect for a culture that's not my own.
caveats: if you don't like to sit with a good book several afternoons or evenings a week, if you don't maintain some kind of steady relationship with current events and enjoy a lively discussion of same, if you don't like a stroll thru MoMA or the Met, if you sneeze after meeting Buster & Winkle.....well then....let''s not waste our hard-earned spare time [actually TOO much time] carved out for this rather strange way to meet people.
oh yes: i only respond to those who have pictures posted
