Hello, I would characterize myself as a true romantic, a bit old fashion; inventive, and sincerely kind. I like to think that I'm open minded, humble, respectful, fare, honest, and loyal . A man of reasonable whit, intelligence, humor, and sometimes a little bit quirky.
I have enjoyed a fairly colorful past, yet, find myself settling into a milder, mellower fellow these days- grace and dignity intact. I keep in reasonably good shape and stay active; love the outdoors, and definitely care about the foods I eat.
Over all, I am looking to form a lasting relationship with someone who shares common interests (I suppose the comfort of home would be the highest on the list.) I am interested in developing a wholesome friendship as the precursor to a an epic relationship.
Currently, I reside in Gladstone, and work relatively close to my place, however, my long term goal is to buy off the remaining balance of my property in the country ( located approx 90 Miles from Portland) and begin a remodel of the building for a greater convenience, and comfort of living.
Ideally, I would love to share this prospect with a partner whom shares similar views of country living, and perhaps, has an acquired taste for "Earth friendly design and sustainable living " i.e. eating generous amounts of garden grown foods, or living in a non-toxic home.
Financially, I am not too wealthy, but still feel blessed to have a good job, and a home that is almost entirely paid off; Hey, I lived a fairly wild (city) lifestyle for most my youth, and now plan on spending my later years enjoying the tranquility of nature; the rivers, lakes, mountains etc... I guess I'm feeling lucky that I played my hand as long as I did, and still able to get out of the game with a few chips in my pocket.
I have a fairly wide range of interests, and honestly, find it hard to keep up with all of them, but I try! Consistently, I love cooking, and have enjoyed it even more doing so with others. I guess in truth, I'm a "fair weathered" hobbyist. For instance, when I become interested in something, such as brewing cider, or some outdoor building project, I tend to read up on the subject and try it out - and then might not return to doing it for a year, or so. Just too interested in many things to stay put. Also, creativity, is a big part of my inner drive. I enjoy song writing, and visual arts; photography and video, and video editing has always been one of my favorite expressions of communicating artistically.
There's nothing that I enjoy more then exploring, especially here in the Northwest. Honestly, I can say that I have been to every nook and cranny of Oregon, Washington, and Northern Cal, and love every inch of it. In fact, It would be rare that you couldn't talk me into a spontaneous get-away adventure on the drop of a dime. And I would say, I'm a fun and romantic traveler, always up for singing a song, a challenging license plate game, or just grooving on experiencing authentic Americana. Also, love, love love travelling by train!
I have a great curiosity for history; biographies and such, and constantly find myself soaking up fascinating facts. Some of my favorite figures in history include: Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arch, Sacagawea & York (of the Lewis & Clark expedition) , Eugene V Debs, Charlie Chaplin, Chief Joseph, and John Lennon, just to name a few; Mostly radical thinkers and humanitarians.
Well, I'll probably get around to adding more about myself, soon, but please write if you;re interested, and share a bit about yourself, always open to new friends.
