I’m an agnostic (as you can see) but respect the core ideals of most religions (the golden rule primarily) but often disagree with the way its practiced or used politically. Do I believe in a God? Probably not is my best answer but I’m not convinced that death is the end. This may be an example of my feelings overriding my logic.

I also have taken classes in mental health counseling. I’m not too sure how far I’m going to go with that but I definitely want to be more involved with helping people directly than processing data for statisticians.
In my free time I’m a photographer for the local (Cincinnati) fringe festival which is a 2 week long theater and art festival after memorial day. Recently I have become an informal photographer for local bands.
I also started working for a blog called Make Cincinnati Weird which has gotten me access to great things so far like the ability to shoot Cirque du Soleil from the front row.
I like video games with a story. I haven't played one in months so I'm not someone who spends all their time gaming but when I have a new story to get through it's like a really good book I don't want to put down too often.
I guess it’s somehow more manly to watch sports year round and have fantasy leagues of everything from football to golf but I don’t do any of that and I can’t imagine I ever will.
Beyond that, I’m still considering my future.
I’m also pretty good at working behind the scenes. I’m not someone who likes to be in the spotlight too often so I may be good at not being noticed but its possible that’s just my interpretation.
I’m also very very quiet if I meet someone in a crowd of people I don’t know already. I probably come off as not sociable but those who stick around and give me a chance find that I’m actually quite sociable in small groups.
I tend to like movies that provide an escape from reality as opposed to stories that happened or are happening. I’m not a fan of period dramas such as “the Other Boleyn Girl” but I otherwise have a very wide range of movies I’ll enjoy. Horror is probably at the bottom of that list, I have a vivid imagination and get immersed in stuff easily but as I’ve gotten older I find its not as big of a deal to watch. I just won’t pick horror over something else except in rare circumstances. Here’s a pointless list you probably won’t read: Princess Bride, Goonies, Rocky Horror, Reign Over Me, Stranger Than Fiction, What About Bob, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Me and You and Everyone We Know.
A lot of people have been adding television to this list. I don’t actually own a TV anymore but here’s what I’ve been watching on hulu. Glee (Gleek), My So Called Life, Family Guy, American Dad, Cleavland Show, The Simpsons. Also Babylon 5 is maybe my favorite all time series which beat out Star Trek TNG as the prior favorite. I’ve never seen an episode of Lost or Battlestar Galactica (the new one).
I am appalled at myself for not having thought of this before including my favorite TV (hulu) shows. My favorite radio programs/podcasts are:
Radio Lab, This American Life, The Splendid Table, Wait Wait...Don’t Tell Me, Market Place Money. I also used to listen to Prairie Home Companion, Car Talk and Speaking of Faith but don’t often listen to any of them anymore.
I go through phases of listening to different bands. I also listen to local bands often such as Serenity Fisher. My favorite is eels. Other favorites are Radiohead, Mazzy Star, Dido, Postal Service, Pink Floyd, Ani DiFranco.
Am I vegetarian? I guess the real question is, am I vegetarian yet? The short answer is no, not yet. The long answer is, I know what mechanically separated chicken is, I know that processed meats may be soaked in ammonia and then artificially flavored to taste like meat again. I’ve had some really bad chicken experiences at area restaurants for lunch. Overall my tastes are eclectic. I like Indian, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, good Italian, Mediterranean. I recently had Ethiopian with a friend. I don’t like mushrooms but I’ve been working on that, it’s not going well though. I love garlic and oregano.

I don't tend to make a good first impression, and maybe that translates to not composing a good first message either. If you aren't either than that's ok, I'll understand. I don’t think my profile reflects some of the lighter sides of my personality, the random silliness and humor I often express on a regular basis.
Also I have an undergraduate minor in Women's Studies. Some people seem to find that cool, hopefully it separates me from the masses a little bit.
