What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Came to Pittsburgh for my master's degree and fell in love with this stupid, charming city. Trained as a librarian, but work in information science instead of a library - it's in my field, so I can't complain! And my job allows me to stay in PGH, so I'm a happy camper! My lovely housemate got me into Scottish Country Dancing and I love it! Make fun if you want to, but what's wrong with skipping around church basements with really awesome people? Answer: nothing. Unless you're against fun or something. Then, you know, I don't know what to tell you. :-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- crafts
- making guacamole (and then eating it)
- trivia (ask me anything!)
- naps
- making stuffed animals sing and dance (never fails to crack people up!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my laugh. Apparently, it's very distinctive!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm a librarian, so I'm always reading. I tend toward biographies, cookbooks, and novels (both trashy and non-trashy). If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably "Summerland," by Michael Chabon. He's an amazing writer. Or the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon. I bought the most recent one on my Kindle, I've been saving it up for vacation because I know it will be all-consuming.

Movies: Apollo 13 (I recently decided that it's my number one movie of all time), The Sound of Music (love musicals), Shawshank Redemption, Zoolander, Billy Madison, Star Trek (the reboot, but I like the original series as well), Lord of the Rings (all of them, but part 2 especially), Easy A - I like comedies a lot. I won't watch horror movies though - just not my thing. I also un-ironically love the Fast and the Furious movies. I have still not seen Sharknado.

TV: Adventure Time, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, Sons of Anarchy (I'm a few seasons behind though), and The Mindy Project (current); Alias, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The West Wing (older)

Music: Dave Matthews Band, Ray LaMontagne, Tom Petty, Coldplay, Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine, Swell Season, Death Cab for Cutie, Allman Brothers Band, Elton John, Bastille, The Lumineers, The Black Keys. Always love Stevie Nicks. I'm trying to appreciate jazz. I like classic country (like Dolly Parton and Merle Haggard) and folk/country fusion or whatever the heck it's called, but NOT pop country (no, thank you). Taylor Swift kind of makes me wanna die.

Food: Mexican food! I pretty much love it all. Breakfast food as well, it's pretty much awesome. Ravioli. Shrimp. Red chili hummus with tortilla chips. Olives (like the nice kind. With the pits still in). Crab cakes. Mashed potatoes. Pie (all kinds. pie is the bomb). Cheese (all kinds. cheese is the bomb).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-family/friends
-books
-Mexican food
-a comfy bed
-beautiful outdoor space (Oregon makes it easy, but I think Pittsburgh has a lot to offer as well)
-coffee! coffee should probably be at the top, but I don't want my family to feel bad. (tee hee)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Getting in the pool. I heart the pool. Tacos. Unicorns and glitter. The traffic situation in Pittsburgh - I'm seriously obsessed, especially since my commute is....considerable. There's GOT to be a better way. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either hanging out with friends, or collapsing from exhaustion from the week. Or running spy missions. Wait, I wasn't supposed to say anything about that. Whoopsers!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a secret fan of "Teen Wolf" - not the 80s movie with Michael J. Fox - but the new one on MTV. I mean, it's hot werewolves - what's not to love?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're cool and funny, and have your act together. Clingy guys need not apply - I'm an independent, grown-up woman, and I expect the same from the man I'm seeing. Also, I'm a west coast girl, raised on equality - this "man is the head of the house" east coast BS drives me absolutely CRAZY. NO ONE is the boss of me except me.

I love laughing, and making people laugh. I know it's cliche, but having a good sense of humor is pretty important to me....soooo, yeah. Try to have one of those. :-)
