I am romantic, spontaneous, and nerdy.

My Self-Summary

Hey everyone. My name is Lydia, and I'm just going to ramble in this box since they gave me one with absolutely no direction!

I'm a huge nerd and I geek out over the most silly things....like sesamoid bones, bugs, and the science behind acrylic nails.

I'm looking for fellow nerds or multi-faceted people who see the world as a giant museum and life as something beautiful that must be cared for.

School is very important to me. I hate stupidity, and I disparage "blissful ignorance".

I feel the need to clarify that I'm not skinny. I'm not a complete blob, I mean, I still have a figure. But if that bothers you, then I suggest you stop reading right now. I'm working on it, but we all know it takes time and ups and downs. If you're not a vapid, shallow ass...then I welcome you to my page!

And because I have nothing left to say, here's two of my favorite quotes:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." Buddha

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Gandhi

P.S. Hi lordfen and oheohkillert0fu!!! Two of my best friends!

What I’m doing with my life

I'm in college right now double majoring in physical anthropology and geography with a minor in forensic sciences. I'm going to go on after this for my Masters (been looking into grad schools) and then PhD so I can be a professor of anthropology.

I'm close to fluent in Swedish, and want to learn Finnish. I'm learning Portuguese since was just researching in Portugal and will be going back next summer as well for more specified research. Also, I'm hoping to take 4 semesters of German in college. Can you tell that I love languages?

When I'm not being a bookworm, I love hanging out with my friends, watching movies, listening to music (and singing along poorly), cooking, hiking, and laughing.

I’m really good at

The first things people usually notice about me

My hair (wavy/curly, blondish/reddish, and down to the very bottom of my back).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
Island - Aldous Huxley
The Power of One - Bryce Courtenay
My textbooks.

Movies:
Pride and Prejudice
Dogma
Interview with the Vampire
Crank
The Princess Bride
Ever After
The Birdcage
Independence Day
Anchorman
There Will Be Blood
Shrek!
Too many to list.
Music:
Nightwish
Sonata Arctica
Epica
Incubus
John Butler Trio
Disturbed
Iced Earth
Ani Difranco
Led Zeppelin
Tori Amos
Stratovarius
Again...too many to list! Lots of metal, rock, classic rock, etc.

Food:
Indian, Middle Eastern, and Japanese food. Not so much hibachi, but the good stuff like sushi, sashimi, etc. I love adventurous eaters who wouldn't want to go to Chili's, TGI Fridays, or Applebee's all the time.

The six things I could never do without

Animals,
Nature,
My computer (sad but true, I loves it),
Music,
Love/friendship,
Freedom

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Religion.
Politics.
Human rights.
Animal rights (I'm a monthly donor to the ASPCA).
Environmental protection.
Financial planning because I'm terrified of the future.
Why I got that "award" for being "less trusting". Hmmm...
And whatever work I have to do for school.

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing homework! Or hanging out with friends. Boring life eh?
Now in Swedish
Jag alltid har jätte mycket läxor att göra! Eller är jag med vänner. Tråkigt liv, ja?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'll pass out if my showers are too hot or too cold.

You should message me if

I hate to create stipulations, but, alas, I feel as though they are necessary so listen up!
I'm a grammar freak. Please don't message me if you can't spell and use (at least moderately) proper grammar. I WILL correct you.
I don't want to go on a date after speaking with you for all of 20 glorious seconds.
I don't want a sugardaddy.

Also, if you'd rather, my screenname on AIM is pnkpnthr8989. I know it's stupid...I made it when I was 13. I almost never put up an away message, so give me a while to respond, k?
