My self-summary
I'm really not sure what to put here since I feel it's difficult to truly capture someone's personality and idiosyncrasies then translate them into writing.

With that said, I’m one of those relaxed, thoughtful and inquisitive types. I'm ambitious and know what I want in life, however I take time and reflect on where I am and what I can do to improve. I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that I'm not sure many detect. I believe that laughter and camaraderie are the best antidote to life’s ills. Though I studied biology in college, I wouldn’t classify myself as being a total "left brainer." In fact, I'm not sure if I fit in a specific category. Finding a balance in all areas of life is key. I think my goofiness, seriousness and quirkiness offset one another. Though I’m not where I want to be in life just yet, I am making strides to get there.

I think Bowie put it best when he said, "I'm not a prophet or a stone age man, just a mortal with potential of a superman."

Yeah, I just quoted Bowie. He's no Karl Marx or Lao Tzu but he lends a few words of wisdom on occasion.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated with a degree in physiology and I'm taking some time off before I apply to med school. I shadow a neurosurgeon, which has been an awesome experience since that's what I hope to specialize in. In the meantime, I'm waiting tables and studying for the MCAT.
I’m really good at
Laughing at inappropriate times, using my manly intuition to assemble things without reading the instructions, unintentionally deceiving people with sarcasm, listening, making bad puns, expressing my thoughts, analyzing things, breaking into spontaneous sing-a-longs with friends, making sexual innuendo out of perfectly innocent statements, attempting to cook, writing and having inebriated philosophical discussions.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure. Maybe that I'm big and black, or that I wear glasses?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I'd like to say I do a lot of recreational reading but in reality I usually just stick to magazines i.e. National Geographic, GQ, Four Four Two, etc. However, I'm still a sucker for Poe and Hemingway, and The Great Gatsby is possibly my favorite book ever.

Movies:
90s action flicks that inspire nostalgia, anything cerebral or thought provoking, Wes Anderson, satires, witty comedies, anything with Morgan Freeman or Matt Damon, anything that successfully causes me to suspend my disbelief i.e. Die Hard, James Bond movies or anything by John Woo.

Shows:
30 Rock, Jeopardy, Community, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Archer, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, soccer games, NFL.

Music:
Classic Rock, New Wave, Old school rap, 90s, 70s Prog Rock, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Nas, Justice, Deadmau5, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Bob Marley, Nico, Wutang, J.S. Bach, Pixies, Joy Division, MF Doom, Air, New Order, King Crimson and a host of others all seem to coexist in my iTunes. I'll give almost anything a try.

Food:
I'll eat anything meant for human consumption. If you shove it in my face, I'm likely to put it in my mouth. You can interpret that however you want.
The six things I could never do without
For the sake of originality, I'll just assume that food, water, friends and family are sort of essential...

-Physical activity: I like to think of sweat as my body fat's tears and I like to make my body cry often.
-Intellectual stimulation: Wit, languages, science and puzzles all make for interesting pastimes.
-Burritos: They're like heaven wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
-Music: I need to meet my daily head- bobbing and air guitar quotas.
-My Android: When all the information known to man is encapsulated in a pocket-sized device, the ability to update my Facebook is of utmost importance.
-Football (soccer): I'm probably a bit of a hooligan but I don't bite... unless you're into that sort of thing?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Kim Kardashian
-How to achieve my goals.
-Meter, diction, rhymes and speech.
-Existential questions that don't really have an answer.
-If my life should be written into a book or a sitcom.
-Where people are going and where they're coming from.
-How each seemingly insignificant decision can lead to a chain of unforeseen, life- changing events.
-If politicians are actually as incompetent as they appear, or if they're just screwing with us intentionally.
-Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It's true.
On a typical Friday night I am
Unwinding. That can mean any number of things but it's usually having drinks with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a crush on Flo, the lady from the Progressive Insurance commercials. She can sell me insurance for as long as she likes.
