I am lovely, charming, and modest.
My Self-Summary
A genuine, down to earth, affectionate girl who is looking for
someone to go for walks, snuggle up with and wear my knitting
:)
I'm an outdoorsy person and love camping, hiking, travelling,
exploring both the countryside and cities. I visited Nepal a little
while ago, which was totally mind-blowing. I plan to go back as
soon as I can and I would love to even live and work there one
day.
I have lived in North London for about 14 years but am originally
from the North-East of England. I love living in the capital but am
also partial to spontaneous weekends away or it all gets a bit too
much.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a good job which pays reasonably well but been doing it far
too long now so looking for my next challenge. I'd ideally like to
combine my travel ambitions and teaching / humanitarian work.
I’m really good at
Knitting
Organising things
Cooking
Scrabble, quizzes - that kind of thing.
I'm terrible at
maths
driving
playing my guitar
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently I look a bit like Kate Winslet. I probably get told this
by complete strangers at least 3 times in an average week. I don't
necessarily think that myself, but I get told it so often that I
thought it was a fair answer to the question.
I'm also quite tall.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I'm not a great reader, err... The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe, travel books. I did read Dancing Naked in the Mind Field
and Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures a little while ago
and found them both very interesting and thought provoking. The
titles are a little misleading, they are not particularly about
nudity nor sex - google them if you are curious.
Film: I don't really watch a lot of films, and I rarely remember
those that I do. One that does stand out is A Matter of Life and
Death.
Music: Let's just say my tastes are fairly varied and tend to
change along with my experiences. I have always loved The Beatles
and The Stone Roses were brilliant. Lately I'm into The Zutons and
Graham Coxon. I have been known to stun people with my rendition of
Never, Never, Never by Shirley Bassey on karaoke, although opinion
is divided as to this being in a good or a bad way. I always have a
tune in my head (sometimes they don't always stay in there) - it's
Psycho Killer this week.
Food: Amongst my favourites are steak, proper sausages and mash, a
good curry, apple crumble. Obviously I do not eat these things ALL
the time!
The six things I could never do without
My creativity
Hope
Real Ale / Guinness
Toothbrush / Paste / Soap etc
2 pointed bamboo sticks, a ball of wool and an idea
At my age... a good bra!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of stuff that you would either find mind-numbingly boring or
would send you running for the hills.
Why I get a disproportionate amount of messages from middle-aged,
vastly overweight Spanish men and floppy haired French blokes.
On a typical Friday night I am
In my local with friends and neighbours.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
That's for me to know and you to find out...
You should message me if
You're decent and down to earth, good-natured, clean and fancy
meeting for a drink or two. Whilst it would be nice to meet 'That
Special Someone' (should he exist), it would be great to meet some
new friends as well - especially if you like getting out of town at
weekends and doing something different, or fancy a beer after work
every now and then.
I am impressed by a creative/artistic streak and good manners.
Floppy hair and a French accent a bonus ;)
I don't find agressive or macho men attractive at all and am not
impressed by money. Having said that I do expect anyone I date to
have a job and be able to support themselves.
If you think we may get on, please send a wink or message, so I
know you exist, and we'll take it from there - don't be shy
now!
I'm not looking for casual sex so don't waste my time, and yours,
if that's what you're here for.
